About the Border Wall Debate

The border wall debate rolls on.  Trump's appeal on TV last night was not great but far more than adequate as he laid out the issues.  The Democrat's rebuttal (Pelosi and Schumer) was typical Democrat nonsense totally absent anything justifying their incomprehensible obstruction. It was mere bloviating drivel. And Pelosi had the audacity to tell us " Sadly much of what we heard from President Trump throughout this senseless shutdown has been full of misinformation and even malice. The president has chosen fear. We want to start with the facts."  Then she went on to offer irrelevancies rather than any relevant supporting facts. Worse yet she closed her meaningless words with this: "The fact is, the women and children at the border are not a security threat. They are a humanitarian challenge, a challenge that President Trump’s own cruel and counterproductive policies have only deepened. And the fact is, President Trump must stop holding the American people hostage and stop manufacturing a crisis, and must reopen the government."  She misleads the public by claiming the only people at the border are women and children.  She failed to mention that vast numbers are criminals, terrorists, rapists, human traffickers (transporting women and children against their will),  murderers, drug dealers, people with diseases long eliminated from our country. And these people are not a threat???.  She and her co-conspirator Schumer are without question irresponsible public servants and complete hypocrites. They totally ignored the fact that they in the past supported a border wall. They even charged that this so called crisis was "manufactured" by Trump.  Ignoring the truth that they and their open borders policies are, in fact, the actual cause of the problem.

Relevant to the conversation is the fact that the request for $5.7 billion Trump has requested is Ms. Pelosi says unaffordable pales in comparison to cost of dealing with the illegals exceeds $114 billion annually.  Talk about complete Democrat insanity.

Interesting Facts:

On Jan. 6, the Office of Management and Budget formally requested $5.7 billion from Congress to fulfill the following border security and illegal immigration-related needs.
  • $5.7 billion for 234 miles of border wall
  • $563 million for immigration judges
  • $211 million for additional border agents
  • $571 million for additional enforcement agents
  • $798 million for 52,000 more beds to keep migrants in detention
  • $631 million for additional devices to screen vehicles for drugs at the border
  • $800 million for additional humanitarian aid for migrants seeking employment
The inherent problem with securing these funds is that Democrats refuse to engage in good faith negotiations. It has widely been reported that Democrats such as House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and many others previously voted to improve border security and build a wall. Their current obstruction is purely political in nature and meant to undermine the Trump Administration at the expense of the American people.
