Do These Items Make You Feel Better About Government?

You will recall that in a recent commencement address in Ohio President Obama, in essence, told his audience that if you can't trust your government who can you trust.  For whatever reason the President seems not to have a good grasp of history.  Goverments througout history have proven themselves to be unworthy to the people's trust.  In any case, if he thinks we can trust his government he is either delusional or he willfully lied to his audience.  Here are a few examples of problems Americans have with government generally and his administration specifically.

The State Department's role in the Benghazi disaster is under investigation and given facts publically known things will not end well for some within the department.  However, there is more malfeasance to be found.  See this link.   http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_162-57588456/state-department-memo-reveals-possible-cover-ups-halted-investigations

Incredible as it may seem many government employees at local, state and federal levels take full advantage of their positions to rip off tax payers.  Here are a few examples. http://finance.townhall.com/columnists/danieljmitchell/2013/06/12/a-frontrunner-for-the-2013-bureaucratoftheyear-award-n1618094?utm_source=thdaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl

The Justice Department doesn't have enough scandals to deal with so here is another one. Frivolous spending of tax payer monies seems not to be a problem with them either.

This article summarizes the history of President Obama’s most recent nominee to the National Labor Relations Board, Richard Griffin.  Either Obama has trouble finding qualified people for the board or he overlooks the failings of those with disreputable backgrounds.  My take:  His selections reflect a lack of judgement.   http://townhall.com/columnists/hectorbarreto/2013/06/11/the-more-you-learn-the-less-youll-like-nominee-is-bad-news-for-obama-labor-board-n1617644/page/full

Here is one of many examples of government protecting the interest of crony capitalists rather than American citizens.    http://www.washingtonguardian.com/energy-departments-donor-risk

This item provides insight into how government manipulates data to its benefit instead of telling us the truth.    http://finance.townhall.com/columnists/michaelschaus/2013/06/13/the-social-cost-of-carbon--another-example-of-data-manipulation-n1619016/page/full

This man is in charge of intelligence gathering that supposedly keeps us safe.    http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/intel-chief-clapper-gave-least-untruthful-answer-u-164742798.html    He did not like the question a Senator asked him during a recent hearing, so he lied.  In a subsequent TV interview he gave his reason:  "So I responded in what I thought was the most truthful, or least untruthful, manner by saying 'no, '"Clapper said, indicating that he did not consider it 'collection' unless government officials actually reviewed the content of the communications. The NSA program, regarding phone records, scoops up 'metadata'—phone numbers called, duration of calls, location and the like."  The problem with his answer is that intelligent agencies have a history of violating citizen privacy rules.

Finally, the IRS also has a long history of bad behavior.  The current spate of scandals is evidence that it continues.  Here is some of the history.   http://www.nationalreview.com/article/350906/very-serious-tradition-internal-revenue-service-jim-geraghty   Now they are in charge of overseeing Obamacare compliance?  Feel good about that?

There are lots more examples where these came from.

Now, do you think what the President recently told his audience of college graduates is credible?  Think the government is to be trusted?  Not!!!
