While
the "hope" portion of the original campaign theme continues to be
elusive, the evidence of what kind of "change" Barack Obama envisioned
continues to mount.
For example, the "War on Terror" is no more. Last month the President all but took a victory lap and declared it
over and done. Al Qaeda and all those other radical Islamist groups
that have vowed "Death to America" no longer matter so much.
Obama's
State Department turned on a dime this week and declared that
Hezbollah's extensive network in Central and South America is just "confined to fundraising" activities. The new wishful thinking stands in stark contrast to volumes of
intelligence data including Congressional testimony from Robert
Noriega, the former U.S. Ambassador to the Organization of American
States in 2011:
