CBS Employees Question Israel’s Right To Exist Amid Tear-Filled Struggle Session

CBS employees questioned Israel’s right to exist during an in-house struggle session Wednesday prompted by reporter Tony Dokounipil asking an openly pro-Palestinian author tough questions, sources told The Free Press.

The staff meeting to discuss Dokounipil’s interview with Ta-Nahesi Coates, which network executives claimed did “not meet editorial standards for impartiality,” was a “shit show,” a source reportedly told The Free Press.

CBS was apparently “humiliated by his Instagram,” a source told the Free Press.

CBS staffers wondered aloud whether “Israel’s existence as a state should be part of fair conversation” during Wednesday’s meeting, a CBS source told The Free Press.

The staff-only meeting followed a Monday meeting called by executives Wendy McMahon and Adrienne Roark where they shamed Dokounpil for bringing his “bias” to the interview, according to Puck News’ Dylan Byers.

While some, like network chief legal correspondent Jan Crawford, stood up for him, others reportedly questioned whether Israel should even exist.
