Andrew Cuomo claims that the policy was not to blame were false. A sixteen-member task force compiled a 242-page report on Nursing Homes and Long-Term Care that found the Department of Health’s “unreasonable” mandate to admit coronavirus patients into the facilities led to deaths of the state’s most vulnerable population, and Cuomo should have reversed the decision much sooner.  The DOH directive required nursing homes to admit medically stable coronavirus patients that had been discharged from hospitals, and overrode regulations that facilities could only accept patients they could properly care for. “Although a determination of the number of additional nursing home deaths is beyond the capacity of the Task Force, there are credible reviews that suggest that the directive, for the approximately six weeks, that it was in effect, did lead to some number of additional deaths,” the report states. “The Department of Health issued a report in 2020 in which it argued unconvincingly that the admission of 6,326 COVID-positive residents during the period the Health directive was in effect had no impact. I don't need to recount the dastardly deeds he and his administration did to protect and fund them. They are part of a well documented disastrous history. But, Obama's loyal subject and now a member of Biden's inner circle, John Kerry, is determined to keep helping the Iranians to do what they do. He, like Obama, obviously thinks they are swell guys. Raisi was defeated 57%-38% in a 2017 run for President, yet this time around, he is the only real candidate in the race... indeed, even as signs of internal dissent within Iran’s ruling class reach unprecedented levels, the Biden administration is pushing ahead with John Kerry’s monomaniacal crusade to strike a nuclear deal that will be bad for the United States, bad for Israel, and that even the Iranians do not want. Sadly, this charade of an election is almost certain to be taken by the Biden Administration as an invitation to lift sanctions and re-engage with Iran. It would be wonderful if such optimism were justified by reality. John Kerry’s team in Vienna are quite possibly the only people left on the planet who insist on treating the Iranian regime as if it were the legitimate representative of the Iranian people. The regime itself no longer cares about preserving the veneer of legitimacy—its own chosen candidate for President, Raisi, has even complained about the farcical nature of his own coronation, and senior insiders, including the Foreign Minister Kerry is negotiating with tells the media he has no power or control over the military or security services, much less to deliver on any nuclear deal he may sign.
