It's been less than 2 weeks since President Joe Biden signed the $1.9 trillion mis-named pandemic relief bill, but Democrats on the Hill are already licking their chops at the prospect of spending even more.
Add a few other odds and ends, leading one wag to dub the bill "The Kitchen Sink Stimulus."
Given the Senate GOP's continued reluctance, many senior Democrats in both chambers believe it will be the ultimate path.
House Democrats are in discussions to include two of the caucus's signature bills - one, a drug pricing bill known as H.R. 3, and another a sweeping green infrastructure bill known as H.R. 2 - as part of the next reconciliation package, according to people familiar with their plans.
If they can keep the filibuster, Democrats would still do plenty of damage but they would be limited by that pesky Senate parliamentarian who put a roadblock their way while the Senate debated the last stimulus bill.
This time, it appears that Democrats will try to pass immigration reform using reconciliation.
