Things Worthy of Consideration

Jordan Peterson helps people understand reality.  This is a good example. Quote: "There’s something we need to sort out. What we call liberalism here in the US is not actually liberalism in the classic sense. Most people in America who call themselves “liberal” — and certainly Washington Democrats — believe in overbearing government coercion. They believe the government’s job is to force people to live the way they think people should live. There is nothing liberal about that at all. They are not liberals. True liberals are a lot more like libertarians. Alright, so we need to understand that we are using the word in a corrupted way when we call people like Hillary Clinton liberal, because that woman is a monster. Finally, just for completeness, it’s worth mentioning that it is quite possible for a person to be conservative and truly liberal. The people we call liberal these days are callow, blame mongering, and entitled. They believe they are owed part of the fruit of your productivity. Worse still, they believe it is your job to pay for their misfortunes, their shortcomings, and their abortions. What they are missing is the greatly enriching experience of enduring hardship with grace and dignity — and the wisdom producing effect of pulling victory out of the trousers of defeat. It is a violent mindset, and at every place and time this mindset has gained power over governments, it has killed many and oppressed many more. What you’re about to see is an example of what happens when this mentality encounters the assertion that a person should take responsibility for their life."    https://www.conservativezone.com/articles/watch-jordan-peterson-schools-a-climate-change-activist/

This is a great piece by Emmy award winning investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson.  It hits home when we consider the massive amount of disinformation so prevalent in today's politically charged environment. Quote: "On the 70th anniversary of Orwell’s death: The danger of third parties “curating” and “fact checking” our info. It is a dangerous practice: Government, corporations, universities, news outlets and “experts” curating our information so that we cannot access, see or believe that which they determine we should not access, see or believe. If anyone had suggested to Orwell, or the American founders, that we would invite this sort of manipulation and control of our information, they wouldn’t have believed it. The idea was first introduced on the national stage by President Obama in October of 2016 right before the presidential election. He insisted that somebody needed to step in and “curate” our information in the “Wild, Wild West” internet environment. Nobody had been clamoring for any such thing. So the challenge for those who came up with this bright idea– in my opinion in an effort to control news and information– was to convince the public to accept something very un-American: their information being shaped and censored by others."    https://sharylattkisson.com/2020/01/on-the-70th-anniversary-of-orwells-death-the-danger-of-third-parties-curating-and-fact-checking-our-info/

Still think liberal progressive socialists and their dysfunctional policies have a good handle on things good for the rest of us?  If so, consider the brief but powerful rebuttal that is real, observable and cannot in any way be refuted. Quote: "Sometimes, a really great meme can simply fill us with sadness or a feeling of melancholy when they point out the absurdities of modern life. Imagine how Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn would feel if you dropped them in the middle of Paris today? When they filmed “Charade” in 1963, Paris was still one of the greatest cities in the world (much like San Francisco in the US used to be). It was the ‘romance’ capital of the world, and a place where filmmakers were often eager to use as a backdrop. Some couples used to plan the one big vacation of their lifetime together with Paris as the destination. Today, Paris is an absolute dump as you can see in the background of this meme, with trash, drug needles, discarded mattresses and other unmentionable debris strewn everywhere. Sad! So many migrants from Third World countries have flood into Paris and surrounding areas of France that you wouldn’t dare go there for any reason. In fact, even the police fear to tread in many of the ‘no-go zones’ where they’ve lost total control. “Enrichment,” indeed."   https://www.factsnotmemes.com/articles/the-sad-decline-of-paris-in-this-meme/
