Intelligence Gathering - Not To Worry???

Read this and tell me that the myriad of enourmously expensive government intelligence gathering programs are completely legitimate.  http://townhall.com/columnists/dianawest/2013/06/21/big-brother-uncle-sam-rewrites-history--again-n1623940/page/full

And after you get the good feelings that link offered, read this item.  http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jun/20/fisa-court-nsa-without-warrant

These two items provide just a limited look at the many ways our federal government is out of control.  Intelligence gathering, oversight shortfalls, "inadvertant" snooping of private citizen communications, unethical if not outright illegalities, limited if any punishment for misdeeds, and failures to take advantage of real intelligence for real threats, and more, are what we are paying for.  Sadly, we deserve what we are getting because of our failure to use our own intellegence gathering so we can study the issues, by voting into office the crew now serving and once in office by not holding them accountable for both their poor lawmaking and poor exercise of their oversight responsibilities.
