Given the amount of government
spying on Americans already underway, what purpose does the Department
of Homeland Security (DHS) have to add this capability to their
bureaucracy. Past DHS actions targeting citizens who differ with the
administration makes this a very, very bad idea. Just note the NSA, FBI
and Justice Department scandal abuses. Do these scandals give you a
sense that ours ist a government of the people, for the people and by
the people? The answer is, of course, no. What our government is
about these days is garnering more power and control over the citizenry,
the very antithasis of what the founders intended, though they tell us
these actions are undertaken for the sake of our security. Huh?
