Another Crack Appears In The Global Warming Narrative

The discussion around sea level rise, particularly postulated by figures like Al Gore and Barack Obama, has been marked by alarmism and misinformation. A recent study contradicts many of the dire predictions made by these leaders.

• Al Gore's 2006 film warned of a 20-foot sea level rise, while Barack Obama exaggerated his influence over ocean levels during his presidential campaign. California Governor Jerry Brown also made alarming predictions about airport submersion due to melting glaciers.

• Critics label these claims as fear-mongering from various public figures who ignore real scientific data.

• A recent scientific study found that about 95% of examined locations did not show significant acceleration in sea level rise. The projections by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are suggested to be overly optimistic.

• Local geological factors, including tectonic movements and glacial adjustments, are the primary reasons for variations in sea levels rather than human influence.

• While we are experiencing a period of rising sea levels, this trend is slow and within historical norms. The notion of accelerated and unprecedented rise is challenged by current science.

As awareness of these findings grows, there is hope that the unfounded fears around global warming can diminish, and clarity on the actual state of sea level rise can prevail among voters.
