The FBI is defying a court order to hand over information from the laptop of Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee staffer murdered in July of 2016
- The bureau wants the court to reverse the 53-page ruling of federal judge Amos Mazzant, an Obama appointee.
- If the court declines, the FBI wants to delay release of the data for 66 years.
Philip Haney, the author of See Something Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad, was found dead of a gunshot wound in his RV in 2020
- Haney may have had information on terrorists that was not welcome at the Department of Homeland Security
- The DHS investigated Haney and revoked his security clearance
- In early 2020, Haney was in contact with top officials about returning to work for the DHS, but no new information was found on his laptop or other incriminating documents
Colombian national arrested in Haiti for conspiracy to commit murder or kidnapping outside the U.S.
- Charges relate to the July 7, 2021 assassination of Haitian president Jovenel Moise
- The FBI has made no arrests in the murder of Americans Philip Haney and Seth Rich in their own country.
