A watchdog group has intensified its demand that Attorney Gen. Loretta Lynch appoint a special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton's private e-mail server after The Washington Free Beacon reported that she received nearly $75,000 in campaign contributions from Department of Justice employees.
That is the agency that would normally decide what action to take if the FBI recommends pressing charges against Clinton in the case.
Citizens United president David Bossie told the The Washington Free Beacon he did not see "how Democratic political appointees can fairly investigate who is about to become their nominee for president."
Lynch contributed more than $10,000 to Democratic candidates in previous years.

The money given to the Democratic front-runner's campaign from Justice Department workers is nearly eight times as much as the combined funds received from them by the other two candidates remaining in the race, Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump and Democratic rival Bernie Sanders. It is also nearly five times as much as Clinton received from those in the department in her unsuccessful 2008 run for the Democratic presidential nomination.
