Decades of Lies from the Left

 A short video from 2021 shows Avi Horowitz interviewing students at Yale University, where some students suggested that getting rid of the U. S. Constitution seemed like a plausible idea. One student called the Constitution a racist document. Although it's uncertain if these views are common among Yale students, it is concerning to hear such hostility toward the foundation of American democracy.

The author reflects on his upbringing, where he admired U. S. laws and wanted to be a responsible citizen. While studying at Harvard during the anti-Vietnam War protests, he encountered students who broke laws to express their opposition. The author acknowledged the validity of war policy debates, but believed the extreme actions taken by some protesters were unnecessary.

At Harvard, he spoke to a fellow student who supported the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), which criticized the U. S. and leaned toward communism. The author questioned this student about his negative views of the U. S. , especially given their shared educational opportunities. However, the student dismissed the author's concerns, showing a disconnect in their perspectives.

The author notes a growing leftist influence in higher education, rooted in a lack of gratitude for the opportunities America provides. An article highlighted in the Wall Street Journal stated that most adults earn more than their parents did, indicating upward mobility in the U. S. , fueled by economic growth.

Over the past 60 years, leftist intellectuals have expanded their influence, leading to policies like open borders during President Biden’s administration, allowing many unvetted individuals to enter the country. The author expresses outrage over the current administration's handling of border security, considering it a violation of U. S. laws, which has resulted in harm to public safety.

Biden previously criticized border policies but drastically changed his stance upon taking office. The author questions whether this shift was due to cognitive decline or other, unknown influences. He emphasizes the financial burden on Americans caused by the government’s current policies to care for illegal immigrants, which he argues jeopardizes national health and safety.

As Trump works to reverse Biden's border policies, the author urges against sympathizing with those who entered under the influence of leftist organizations aimed at destabilizing the country. He believes that leftist policies across various social issues contribute to this destabilization, leading to increased government control over citizens' lives.
