The Curious Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer Resignation Affair

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has announced his retirement. This is a surprise since he has in the recent past suggested he was not ready to retire. I suspect he has been under enormous pressure by left-wing power brokers so Biden can replace him with another hard core liberal willing to sacrifice integrity to support left wing issues rather than interpret the cases according to the Constitution's original intent. They know they will lose the Senate in November so they have to strike now while they still have a chance to keep people on the Court that support their unconstitutional political positions. Quote: "Today, it was learned that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will announce his retirement as early as tomorrow. Breyer was appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1994 and has consistently sided in favor of abortion when the matter has been before the Supreme Court.  He is expected to remain on the court until the end of this term, which means he will cast a vote in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which has the potential to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade case that decriminalized abortion in the U.S.  The Dobbs opinion is expected in the spring. “Breyer’s retirement conveniently allows Joe Biden an opportunity to appoint a new justice before the mid-term elections, which are expected to result in conservative Republicans retaking control of the House and Senate. Once that occurs, it will be difficult for him to get any nominee confirmed,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue.  “However, Biden’s potential nominee will not change the current balance of the High Court.  I expect whoever is nominated will surely be pro-abortion, but they will likely have little impact on future rulings.” Operation Rescue stands ready to oppose any nominee that does not respect the basic human rights to life and liberty."     As Justice Breyer Announces His Retirement, Operation Rescue Vows to Oppose Any Nominee that Will Not Respect Human Life & Liberty
Just as I expected, he was bullied to leave so Biden could appoint someone who will always support the political left whether Constitutional or not. Anti-American Democrats only want what THEY want as politically expedient for them and their political party, not what we the people deserve or what the Constitution requires.  Breyer was relentlessly bullied by the left to get out before Republicans seize the Senate | Fox News

This illustrates how Democrat's virtue signal rather than do what is best for the country regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or anything else. Their top priority is to show us their loyalty to their false narratives above all else. They have the lowest of the lowest ethics and grossly misguided priorities that actually signals just how disloyal they are to us and our country. While whomever Biden nominates may on paper have the credentials, but the appointment will have to pass the "liberal/progressive enough" test first. Quote: "Breyer retirement paves way for Biden to nominate first black female justice. With Justice Stephen Breyer's retirement plans unfolding Wednesday, President Joe Biden has his first chance to fulfill his 2020 campaign promise of nominating a black woman as a Supreme Court justice. "We need to put a black woman on the Supreme Court," then-candidate Biden tweeted in February 2020, amplifying his commitment to champion diverse nominees under his administration. The president has nominated more black women to the U.S. Court of Appeals than any other administration before him, with eight nominations and five confirmations so far. While Biden has not named any selections for Breyer's replacement, one of his appointees confirmed in June, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, was on former President Barack Obama's short list in 2016. Brown is 51 years old, making her one of the youngest viable selections to fill 83-year-old Breyer's seat. She also previously clerked for Breyer and served as a U.S. District judge from 2013 to 2021."    Breyer retirement paves way for Biden to nominate first black female justice | Washington Examiner
We all know the kind of people Obama appointed, so Biden will try to one-up him. Remember, too, that Obama tried but failed to get Biden's current DOJ, Merrick Garland on the Court. Garland has flubbed his job at the DOJ by displaying his disdain for our nation's Constitution multiple times already. For example he sent the FBI after parents objecting to corrupt history of CRT being taught their children in public schools, essentially calling them terrorists for not following left-wing Marxist doctrine... He is also held in jail American citizens as political hostages without due process for over a year because they were at the Capitol on 6 Jan 21 whether they did anything or not. Meanwhile, the actual criminals in the terrorist groups BLM and Antifa who violate the law with impunity go largely unpunished and roam free to commit more crimes. Illegal immigrants? He does not recognize them and what they do is a problem. That attitude represents the Democrat party at its worst. And those are the kinds of things that anyone Biden nominates for the Supreme Court appointee will not likely admit they support but will instead claim the Fifth Amendment right to not incriminate themself.

This item closes out the discussion of Justice Breyer's retirement from the Supreme Court. It's focus is on qualifications as the guiding reason for nominees. Race is not one of the criteria. Quote: "Justice Breyer’s retirement, Biden’s possible appointees, and why ‘race’ shouldn’t be a nomination factor.  Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, the eldest of the High Court’s jurists and anchor of the Court’s left bloc, is retiring. Quick Facts
  • Breyer is currently the longest-serving liberal justice, followed in seniority by Justice Sotomayer then Justice Kagan.
  • President Biden has stated he will only consider black women for Breyer’s replacement.
  • Depending on when Breyer retires, the 2022 midterms could severely impact the nomination process of Biden’s appointment.
