In an interview in August with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, President Joe Biden adamantly denied ever having received recommendations from his senior military advisers to maintain roughly 2,500 troops in Afghanistan.
Several senior defense officials testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee Tuesday stating they recommended Biden "Maintain 2,500 troops in Afghanistan." General Kenneth McKenzie said he was "Confident that the president heard all the recommendations."
It's becoming increasingly difficult to discern fact from fiction, and unfortunately the media has a strong bias.
