FBI had three informants reporting Biden corruption in Ukraine, but no record of real investigation

Recent disclosures regarding the FBI's investigation into allegations of corruption involving the Biden family in Ukraine have uncovered more whistleblowers than previously known. The Senate Judiciary Committee, led by Chairman Chuck Grassley, is focused on why there has been no thorough investigation into these allegations.

• FBI Informants: The FBI had three confidential sources that reported potential corruption involving Joe Biden and his son Hunter regarding their ties to the Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings.

• Grassley’s Inquiry: Grassley and Senator Ron Johnson released new FBI documents (FD-1023s) that contain statements from these informants, which echo claims made in previously released memos. Grassley is questioning why the FBI did not fully investigate these allegations.

• Allegations of Corruption: The informants claimed that Joe and Hunter Biden were implicated in a corruption scheme involving Burisma, with accusations that funds were funneled through Latvia. One informant detailed how the Bidens were allegedly involved in manipulating business arrangements to protect Burisma during its probe by Ukrainian authorities.

• Lack of Investigation: During a hearing, Grassley asked FBI Director Kash Patel whether the bureau sought to investigate records related to the informants' claims. Patel responded that there was no knowledge of such efforts.

• Previous Whistleblower Claims: A previous source, Alexander Smirnov, had also made claims about Hunter Biden's role at Burisma. However, he later pleaded guilty to providing false information, leading to concerns about the credibility of the source.

• FBI's Position on Intelligence: The FBI stated that the FD-1023 documents contain unverified intelligence and do not constitute proof of the allegations. Grassley clarified that the investigation's purpose is to determine whether the claims were properly verified.

• Past Warnings Ignored: Grassley revealed that warnings about suspicious activities involving Hunter Biden have been brought to the attention of federal agencies since at least 2015, but investigations were obstructed.

• Political Interference: IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler reported that the Justice Department hindered investigations into Hunter Biden's tax issues and related crimes due to political reasons.

• Further Investigations Needed: Grassley stated that over 40 informants have come forward about possible criminal activities related to the Biden family, but many avenues of investigation were allegedly blocked.

The emerging details about the FBI's handling of allegations against the Biden family raise questions about the thoroughness and transparency of federal investigations. As more whistleblowers step forward, the Senate Judiciary Committee aims to uncover the extent of any potential corruption and the FBI's response to these serious claims. Grassley seeks clarity on the investigations, emphasizing the need to resolve these allegations definitively.
