Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, announced that "multiple FBI whistleblowers, including those in senior positions" had accused Washington Field Office assistant special agent in charge Timothy Thibault and other FBI officials of "falsely portray[ing] as disinformation evidence acquired from multiple sources that provided the FBI derogatory information related to Hunter Biden's financial and foreign business activities, even though some of that information had already been or could be verified."

Conflicting Stories

• Soon after Hunter Biden disclosed that the Delaware U.S. attorney's office was investigating him and had served multiple subpoenas on him and his business associates, the New York Times published a story discussing the separate investigation run out of the Pittsburgh US Attorney's Office.
• The Times portrayed Barr as a partisan hack and, relying on unnamed sources, claimed that Barr's decision to direct Brady to oversee an "intake process for information about Ukraine to 'assess its provenance and its credibility,'" was "highly unusual because prosecutors in Delaware had already been scrutinizing Hunter Biden for more than a year."
• Barr made clear at the time that investigators had to be careful about any information originating from Ukraine because "there are a lot of agendas in the Ukraine" and "we can't take anything we received from Ukraine at face value."

An FBI Leak

• In 2020, five officials told the New York Times a different story, and some further claimed that in response to the Pittsburgh U.S. attorney's investigation, FBI agents "found ways to ostensibly satisfy Mr. Brady," raising questions of how precisely they thwarted his investigation.
• When coupled with what the multiple whistleblowers, including some in senior positions, told Grassley, it appears the FBI headquarters either improperly withheld information or presented inaccurate information to the US attorney's office in Pittsburgh and possibly also Delaware.

• In addition to doing away with nuclear and fossil-fuel power plants, it seeks to raise living standards for communities most affected by climate change and to end federal funding for environmental upgrades and "green jobs."

The Brooklyn-based Right to The City Alliance (RTCA) claims that the GND holds the key to developing "a regenerative economy based on cooperation, deep democracy, feminism, and equity."

• Other major supporters of the Green New Deal include tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit activist organizations such as the National Audubon Society, which in 2020 held net assets of $585 million and awarded more than $5.4 million in grants and similar disbursements.
• These and hundreds of other likeminded activist organizations are united in their mission to advance the economic and cultural transformation.

The agendas of the activist organizations, charitable foundations, and educational institutions discussed above reflect their political rather than charitable agendas, make them agents of the Democrat Party, and should disqualify them from receiving billions in taxpayer subsidies.

• But thanks to the partisan nature of the current I.R.S., they don't.
  In addition to doing away with nuclear reactors and fossil fuels, the Green New Deal seeks to raise the living standards of “low-income communities, communities of color, indigenous communities, [and] the front-line communities most affected by climate change, pollution, and other environmental harm.” Toward that end, it aims to guarantee that members of those demographics will be preferentially trained and hired to fill federal “green jobs” that will pay them at least $15-per-hour to implement the aforementioned upgrades, retrofits, and construction projects, thereby helping them to enjoy a “just transition” from their previous occupations to the new “green economy.” The premise underlying these training/hiring policies is that some form of economic reparations or wealth transfer program should be put in place to counteract the alleged affects of America’s historical discrimination against nonwhites and the poor.

Democrats' New Proposal Does Nothing to Lower Inflation

Pumping hundreds of billions into the economy will do nothing to alleviate inflation.

Let's also remember the Democrats' deflection on inflation last year-claiming it was "Transitory" and "No serious economist" is "Suggesting there's unchecked inflation on the way," and so on-was all part of a concerted political effort to ignore the problem long enough to cram through a $5.5 trillion iteration of their agenda.

Unless West Virginians are clamoring to buy already heavily subsidized electric cars, the bill gives them nothing.

The Inflation Reduction Act features new taxes on natural gas and coal production.

In the end, nearly every reporter is going to allow Democrats to pretend that $430 billion is a pared-down bill, a mighty political sacrifice, because what they really wanted was a $3.5 trillion bill.

They're going to allow Democrats to pretend that bill lives up to its name, when it does nothing of the sort.

The Inflation Reduction Act is to inflation what the Affordable Care Act-which doubled premium costs-was to health care insurance.
