D.C.'s partisans easily brush off attacks from their political
opponents -- at least until those jabs take out the city's popular food
trucks.
The Democratic National Committee poked a little fun at the Republican National Committee Thursday, parking their new tour bus outside RNC headquarters to show off the vehicle's loud attacks on presidential candidate Mitt Romney's tenure as Massachusetts governor.
The particular parking space they chose, however, is usually occupied by the celebrated food truck Tasty Kabob -- prompting at least one hungry RNC staffer to lament the truck's absence from its usual location.
"This is just more Democrats literally standing in the way of small business as food trucks work hard to make a living," RNC press secretary Kirsten Kukowsi said in an email.
But, as DNC spokeswoman Caroline Ciccone was quick to point out, Tasty Kabob easily found a spot across the street, and when asked, didn't seem too upset at the change in location.
"We park anywhere, as long as there's a meter," one of the truck's workers said.
Ciccone was adamant that the DNC had no intention of standing between hungry staffers and their middle-eastern food.
