House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer followed through by formally issuing subpoenas to members of the Biden family drawing an angry reaction from the White House.
On Wednesday, the Kentucky Republican took the next step in the ongoing investigation into corruption and influence-peddling schemes by President Joe Biden and his crooked clan, posting a video of him signing the documents to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
On the receiving end of the subpoenas are presidential son Hunter Biden, the globetrotting ex-crackhead and sexual degenerate at the nexus of the web of corruption, brother James Biden, and Biden family associate Rob Walker, who were ordered to give depositions.
"The House Oversight Committee has followed the money and built a record of evidence revealing how Joe Biden knew, was involved, and benefited from his family's influence peddling schemes. Now, the House Oversight Committee is going to bring in members of the Biden family and their associates to question them on this record of evidence," the Oversight boss said.
"Unlike the many lies President Biden told the American people about his family's business schemes, bank records don't lie. These records reveal how the Bidens sold Joe Biden around to the world to benefit the Biden family, including Joe Biden himself, to the detriment of U.S. interests. The House Oversight Committee, along with the Committees on Judiciary and Ways and Means, will continue to follow the facts and deliver the transparency and accountability that the American people demand and deserve," Comer added.
"Turn on Fox News, and you're more likely to see a House Republican talking about the President's family than making life better for American families," said White House oversight and investigations spokesman Ian Sams in a memo titled "James Comers' Latest Effort to Distract from House GOP Failures with Political Attacks on the President and His Family," according to The Hill.
"President Biden and his administration have continually changed their stories throughout this inquiry. You know who's been consistent? The IRS whistleblowers. With each piece of evidence we gather, their whistleblower accounts are corroborated. These subpoenas are a necessary next step as House Republicans deliver accountability for the American people," said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan in a statement.
