Rep. Madison Cawthorn has not pulled back his claims about witnessing cocaine, orgies, and 'perversion' in Washington DC, according to longtime Donald Trump advisor Roger Stone.
Stone - who got his own first-hand look at the city's club underworld in the 1990s - says he got the information from Cawthorn himself.
"Congressman Madison Cawthorn just told me has NOT retracted his claims about drug fueled orgies among DC elites," Stone posted on social media site Gab.Then he took a dig at McCarthy, who tried on Wednesday to contain the situation after it blew up online.
McCarthy said Cawthorn admitted he had exaggerated his claims.
The 65-year-old Arkansas Rep. Steve Womack told the group that he rarely speaks up during the weekly meetings, but did so Tuesday because he's getting questions from constituents about Cawthorn's claims of orgies and drug use, Politico said.
The 'former president' Cawthorn seemingly referred to was Democratic President Bill Clinton.
In December 2021, Cawthorn announced that he and his CrossFit athlete wife Cristina Bayardelle were getting a divorce after just eight months together.
