The president appeared to suggest that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Jan. 6 Committee can force Justice Clarence Thomas to recuse himself from cases relating to the so-called "Insurrection" at the Capitol.
Democrats are demanding that Thomas recuse himself from any Jan. 6 cases over his wife's involvement in the "Stop the Steal" movement, Fox News reports.
Some on the left have even called for Justice Thomas to be impeached over his wife's private political speech.
When asked whether Thomas should recuse himself, Biden, apparently unaware that Thomas has discretion over recusal, said that the Jan. 6 Committee and the Justice Department have to decide that question.
It isn't a crime to challenge election results - it never used to be, anyway - but the Jan. 6 Committee is treating Ginni Thomas, and anyone else who dared to protest the 2020 election, like a de facto criminal.
The committee's reckless disregard for any form of Constitutional or normative boundaries may explain Biden's bizarre suggestion that Pelosi has the authority to force a recusal from Thomas.
As the witch hunt continues, the committee is now considering a subpoena for Ginni Thomas.
