Thing worth considering 1

This item provides a much needed perspective on the current state of affairs.  The author uses the Frank Capra's classic movie "Its a Wonderful Life" as his metaphor. Quote: "Frank Capra ended his movie on an optimistic note. This makes sense, as the U.S. was just entering a new High. There were bad people in the world, but the good people had just defeated the bad people in a World War. Good people had the support of God and his angels. Every time a bell rang, an angel got their wings. Today, every time a bell rings, a Goldman Sachs banker gets a bonus. The depressing truth is that Capra’s faith in Americans was misplaced. Evil has won out over good. The men of wealth and taste have stolen our souls and our faith."    https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/12/26/it-was-a-wonderful-life/   BTW I watched the movie a few nights ago.  One of the all time best movies....  I try to watch it once every year.

This item suggests that elite propagandist are manipulating the masses to buy into their quest for control and an eventual one world government.  This piece is all about propaganda.  Quote: "According to ancient legend (or history – depending upon your theological perspective), the original Tower of Babel represented the full manifestation of mankind’s desire for harmonic unity on earth.  The dream still lives, except today, instead of materializing upon the plains of Shinar, it is appearing in the public arena as well as entertainment venues all throughout the Northern Hemisphere. The nations are being psychologically conditioned for one world under power as the minds of the masses are massaged into accepting their downsizing and eventual demise; while, simultaneously, being programmed to accept the supremacy of the state; or, otherwise, trusting in corrupt institutions of dubious probity.  It is a new year and a time for new beginnings; a time for resolutions. May the reader resolve to not be fooled."    https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/12/29/happy-new-year-dont-be-fooled-by-the-orthodoxies-of-the-messengers/

This item deals with the past and present failings of the fake promises of progressivism.  Quote: "In his exhaustive treatment of envy as a motivator of social behavior, sociologist Helmut Schoeck comments on the irony of progressivism: The actual point of departure for socialist – and for left-wing progressive – generally is identical with that of particularly envy-inhabited primitive peoples. What, for more than a century, has made itself out to be a ‘progressive mental attitude’ is no more than regression to a kind of childhood stage of human economic thinking.”  And, "F.A. Hayek elaborates on this in his The Fatal Conceit, in which he argues that the socialist impulse is a natural one because it conforms to the ancient structures of tribes and families, where property is shared and the individual is less important than the group. The error comes in applying the same model to large groups of unrelated strangers, where the bonds that hold tribes together and enforce accountability are almost wholly absent."    https://fee.org/articles/how-progressives-cling-to-the-past/?   That the contents of this item are totally true is abundantly evident.

This is a good thing Trump has done. Quote: "President Trump wants to bring Merry Christmas back to the citizens of the United States, showing how important the Christmas season should be. Christmas is the birthday of Jesus Christ, and is celebrated throughout the world. The holiday has been watered down over recent years, as political correctness took over and made it difficult to wish anyone a Merry Christmas without getting sneered at. Even for those who aren’t religious — the secular traditions associated with the holiday have more than made it inclusive enough for people of all faiths to appreciate. It is now safe to say Merry Christmas in the United States once again."   http://www.libertyplanet.com/articles/president-trump-is-right-about-the-war-on-christmas/

This item affirms that people are increasingly weary of the direction we are going and affirmation that the emptiness that now fills so many aimless souls seek fulfillment in something meaningful.   http://christianpatriotdaily.com/articles/poll-shows-most-americans-want-to-put-jesus-back-in-christmas/

The Hungarians support their Christian heritage.  Oppose the secularization of their European neighbors. Quote: "Viktor Orbán has used his annual Christmas message to call on Europeans to protect their Christian culture, and vowed Hungary will not “retreat behind concrete blocks” at Christmas and watched its women and daughters “harassed in the New Year’s Eve crowd” like its multicultural neighbours. “Christianity is culture and civilization. We live in it. It is not about how many people go to church or how many pray honestly. Culture is the reality of everyday life… Christian culture defines our everyday morals,” wrote the Fidesz leader, in an article published in Magyar Idők. Orbán also took aim at the enemies of his ‘country first’ policies, who say he cannot claim to be Christian if he will not support allowing “millions from other continents to settle into Europe” in accordance with the commandment to “love thy neighbour as thyself”."    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/12/25/hungarians-pms-christmas-message-want-protect-christian-culture-not-retreat-behind-concerete-blocks-watch-daughters-harassed-new-years/

Quote: "As 2017 drew to an end, the media missed one of the biggest news stories of the year: the persecution of Christians around the world.  According to a groundbreaking new report, Persecuted and Forgotten? A Report on Christians Persecuted for Their Faith 2015-2017,” published by the Catholic organization Aid to the Church in Need, Christian persecution is growing worse in virtually every nation. The report states Western governments “failed to offer Christians in countries such as Iraq and Syria the emergency help they needed as genocide got underway.”   Had Christian relief organizations and other institutions not stepped in to help, the report says, “the Christian presence could already have disappeared in Iraq and other parts of the Middle East.”   https://www.newsmax.com/lelagilbert/christians-persecution-religion-north-korea/2018/01/03/id/834939/?

This topic has appeared in past notes but this piece by Ben Stein says it better.    https://spectator.org/ben-stein-on-fox-nancy-pelosis-concern-about-deficit-spending/

Quote:  "House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is blasting the Department of Justice and the FBI for their “failure to fully produce” documents related to the so-called “anti-Trump dossier,” saying, in a letter obtained by Fox News, “at this point it seems the DOJ and FBI need to be investigating themselves.”   http://www.wnd.com/2017/12/doj-fbi-need-to-investigate-themselves/
