General Items

This item deals with the terrible destructive power of political correctness. Quote: "Americans need to wake up to the fact that political correctness is a progressive tool for tyranny. George Orwell warned of the dangers of totalitarian governments in his famous novel, 1984.  He knew what he was talking about when he wrote, “Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” That ability is steadily being replaced with such rapid political correctness that even Orwell’s ‘thought police’ would be pleased. Political correctness is the antithesis of free speech as envisioned by our Founding Fathers when they wrote the First Amendment."    http://eaglerising.com/32272/the-tyranny-of-liberal-political-correctness-is-destroying-america/

Another item provided us by George Orwell.  Quote: "Orwell also wrote about a futuristic dystopia ruled by a Big Brother government that created politicized euphemisms to reinvent reality. He placed his novel in the year 1984, warning Westerners about what was in their future.  We are now 32 years beyond 1984, but we are at last living Orwell's nightmare."    http://townhall.com/columnists/victordavishanson/2016/04/07/the-politicization-of-the-english-language-n2144393/page/full

The military-industrial complex is far too powerful to ever permit peace anywhere in the world.  It is all about its relationship with government and influencing  foreign policy (or maybe better said inducing conflict) so they can make money selling the products necessary for violent conflicts/war.  Quote: "We as a people must open our minds to a new foreign policy paradigm that makes peace with Russia and thus reduces the nuclear threat. We must cultivate revolutionary political leaders who view global reality through more rational lenses and are prepared to incur some economic shocks in order to dismantle large portions of the military-industrial complex.  Capitalism is a vigorous system that can shed its dependency on war and weaponry and convert to a peacetime economy. It won’t be without some temporary misery, but it can be done if the American people are left free to produce. Until this takes place, there will be no cessation of the “perpetual war for perpetual peace” that presently plagues our lives."    http://afr.org/perpetual-war-perpetual-peace/

Previous notes have included details regarding the leftist billionaire George Soros and his nefarious activities within the ranks of the progressive left and Democratic party.  This extends coverage of how bad, even evil, he really is.  In this piece one of his partners in crime is our very own CIA.  I wish it were not so but too much evidence exists to deny the truth.  Quote: "Two prominent heads always stick out when a country like Brazil suffers from popular unrest. One of those two heads is that of the Central Intelligence Agency. The second head is that of a professional instigator who finances opposition movements to take over important sectors of society. In the case of Brazil, that second head is billionaire George Soros.  Both the CIA and Soros are partners in destabilizing countries as far back as Nazi Germany. In the case of Brazil, as it happens in other countries, it is easy to know when a revolution is real and when it is a swindle. One of the ways to know whether a revolution is controlled is by following mass media coverage."  And, "According to journalist and former intelligence agent, Wayne Madsen, the Soros financed controllers of the protests are found in “Brazil’s largest corporate federations and corporate-owned media conglomerates and all of them have links to domestic non-profit organizations.” Those organizations include Vem Pra Rua and Free Brazil Movement.  Besides George Soros and the CIA, popular controlled movements in Brazil are also supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), as well as the American Agency for International Development (USAID).  “Street protests against Rousseff have, since they began in 2014, taken on the typical Soros themed revolution construct. As with the disastrous Soros-inspired and CIA-nurtured Arab Spring protests in Egypt, Libya, Syria, and Tunisia and Euromaidan protest in Ukraine,” explains Madsen."    http://www.thesleuthjournal.com/soros-cia-behind-brazilian-revolution/   I remind you evidence exists that Soros funded the 99% protests of a few years ago and a series of Black Lives matter protests such as the one in Ferguson, Missouri among others.  He is also behind the disruptions taking place in Donald Trump campaign gatherings.  He is a hard core Hillary supporter.  She has never denounced him or his tactics and gladly welcomes his money.

This is what it has come to.  Our government is pursuing increasingly totalitarian practices.  Quote: "“The way things are supposed to work is that we’re supposed to know virtually everything about what [government officials] do: that’s why they’re called public servants. They’re supposed to know virtually nothing about what we do: that’s why we’re called private individuals. This dynamic – the hallmark of a healthy and free society – has been radically reversed. Now, they know everything about what we do, and are constantly building systems to know more. Meanwhile, we know less and less about what they do, as they build walls of secrecy behind which they function. That’s the imbalance that needs to come to an end. No democracy can be healthy and functional if the most consequential acts of those who wield political power are completely unknown to those to whom they are supposed to be accountable.”      https://www.lewrockwell.com/2016/04/john-w-whitehead/growing-totalitarianism/

Quote: "There is the Constitution, but the courts are busy renovating that great document to fit the spirit of the age, as reflected in opinion polls, which now determine almost everything.   Moral relativism has contributed to a host of societal and relational problems few wish to acknowledge. To do so would force people to admit their "standard," which in reality is no standard at all, isn't working. And such an acknowledgement could lead to what theologians call repentance, a turning away from the old and embracing the new, which is not new, but old, tried and proven best."    http://townhall.com/columnists/victordavishanson/2016/04/07/the-politicization-of-the-english-language-n2144393/page/full

A cogent reminder in these troubled times and as we ponder the consequences of the upcoming presidential election.  Quote: "It’s a bad sign when you get halfway through a presidential campaign with no sages wagging their heads sagaciously as they cite Lord Acton. No wonder the politicians get away with so much. Their consciences have not had to reconcile with the most profound political sagacity of modern times. To wit: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” http://spectator.org/articles/66073/lord-acton-call-your-office

There is a real lesson to be learned here.  Quote: "Dr. Jeffrey Miron, of Harvard University "...explodes three major liberal myths:  Pro-Capitalism = Pro-Business. Or better, “pro-corruption.” This is just not true. The truth is that being “pro-capitalism” actually means being pro-consumer; Capitalism generates unfair distribution of income. Wrong. Capitalism rewards productivity. And, Capitalism caused the 2008 Financial Crisis. Actually, that is the exact opposite of the truth. The Crisis was caused by the absence of capitalism and the presence of crippling government regulation."    http://eaglerising.com/32595/3-liberal-myths-about-capitalism-why-capitalism-is-the-answer-not-the-problem/

This item examines the current federal tax system and finds it wanting.   http://freebeacon.com/issues/americans-6-figs-pay-80-income-taxes/?   Not only that consider all those government programs.... http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/04/the_day_after_tax_day_lets_talk_about_spending_and_free_stuff.html   This item reinforces the prior two.  http://www.newsmax.com/Finance/StreetTalk/US-Taxes-Paid-Wealthier/2016/04/19/id/724635/?  Kind of blows a hole in the Democrat tax proposal.

Think about the answer to this question.  Quote: "But where do we go for protection when government goes from protector to “heckler?”   This piece deals with tyrannical government violations of the First Amendment and more.  "The powers that be are aligned against those who question official climate change orthodoxy.  Speaking of hot house gases, watch Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), who is Jewish, lecture a Catholic priest for “disagreeing” with the Pope’s tweets, which Boxer affirms as climate change catechism. This follows Boxer telling a philosopher that his opinion is a toxic emission since he’s not a “scientist” of the Pope’s caliber. Galileo, call your office. President Obama decreed in his State of the Union address last January that man-made climate change, not terrorism nor ISIS, is the biggest threat to the future of the planet.  Who can forget the images of terrified Parisians, Californians, and Belgians fleeing the fury of displaced polar bears?  Polar bears, take heart. Obama’s attorney general admitted to a congressional committee on March 9 that the DOJ has referred information to the FBI for possible civil actions against corporate culprits who dispute the “threat of carbon emissions.”  Not to be out-muscled, 17 state attorneys general are targeting private corporations for possibly misleading shareholders about climate change. The Conservative Enterprise Institute, a private think tank, announced on April 13 that it is also a government target:"  http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/04/when_big_bad_brother_becomes_the_heckler_.html   Talk about uninformed tyrannical government functionaries blowing of self righteous steam about something they know little about.  With leadership like this who needs enemies?
