Given western mainstream media
news coverage of the ongoing conflict between Hamas terrorists in
Gaza and Israel, some may not be at all clear as to Hamas intentions.
Needed clarity is provided both in the Hamas Charter of 1988 and
documentation recently recovered by the Israeli military upon seizure of
over 30 tunnels dug from Gaza into Israel from which to
infiltrate Israel. Don't hold your breath waiting for the mainstream
media to correct their repetitive mischaracterizations of Hamas
intentions and even their obvious support of Hamas actions vies-a-vies
Israeli actions. For example, a confiscated Hamas handbook "...recognizes
that Israel tries to minimize Palestinian civilian casualties and
limits its use of weapons to avoid this. It also realized that
information about such casualties and the destruction of civilian
facilities increases the hatred of Israel by Palestinians. Not
surprisingly, except perhaps to some in the mass media, Hamas instructs
Palestinians to describe their dead always as “innocent civilians,” and
to refrain from indicating that rockets are being launched from
populated civilian areas. No pictures must be shown of rockets fired
into Israel from Gaza cities. A Hamas video directs individuals, “Be
sure to humanize the Palestinian suffering.”" http://www.americanthinker.com/2014/08/hamas_tells_the_truth_about_itself.html
This is an example of how dishonest and misleading our media, in this case the Washington Post, can be. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2014/08/wash_post_exonerates_hamas.html
A legitimate question requiring a legitimate answer is why does the
media frequently misrepresent the facts or worse take sides favoring one
over the other and reporting their biases as fact. Having an opinion
is okay but reporting opinion as fact is unethical. The airing
of opinions belong in clearly understood opinion forums.
