A video from Connecticut's Trinity College shows a supposed member of their administration tearing down flags hung on a student's home.
In the video, one of the students whose home the incident happened at asks the administration member, "Who are you touching our flags? You have no right to do this." "You were directed to take it down," the woman responded, specifying that the Dean's office made this request.
The administration member then tells the student to put his phone away and stop recording, which the student refuses to do.
"Absolutely not, I have a right to record and you know that," the student said.
"This is America. We have the First Amendment right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression. I don't know why you're taking my flags down." The woman then tries to walk away with the student's flags, which he refuses to allow.
Not only does Trinity allow gay pride flags, but they event have an "LGBTQ Foundations & Allyship" course for students to "Learn more about sex, gender, sexuality, gender identity, and expression." However, it doesn't allow its students to show support for the police force, firefighters, or military personnel.
