It would be nice if more
Americans would embrace the wisdom of Walter Williams. Here is just one
reason why. Quote: "A very difficult liberty pill for many Americans to
swallow is freedom of association. As with free speech, the true test
for one's commitment to freedom of association does not come when one
permits people to voluntarily associate in ways that he deems
acceptable. The true test is when he permits people to associate in ways
he deems offensive. If a golf club, fraternity or restaurant were not
to admit me because I'm a black person, I would find it offensive, but
it's every organization's right to associate freely. On the other hand, a
public library, public utility or public university does not have a
right to refuse me service, because I am a taxpayer. The bottom line is
that it takes a bold person to be for personal liberty, because you
have to be able to cope with people saying things and engaging in
voluntary acts that you deem offensive. Liberty is not for wimps." https://townhall.com/columnists/walterewilliams/2017/03/15/liberty-is-not-for-wimps-n2298196?
This is something we need
to worry about. This writer observes that it seems that Trump is
following the George H.W. Bush model on foreign affairs. That is
bad. Quote: "It’s not too late for Trump. This may be one of those
times where a President learns that his advisers are not politicians for
a reason. They lack political sense. Trump does have a habit of
learning quickly from his errors. That’s not the way to bet. He is now
getting tongue-kissed by the Establishment. Like all men with out-sized
egos, vanity is his greatest weakness. If Trump is enjoying the praise
from his adoption of the “invade the world” position, imagine what
happens when he accepts the “invite the world” half. Maybe Trump
recovers and avoids the fate Bush I, but I have my doubts." https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/04/08/donald-herbert-walker-trump/
We need to pound the White House and our elected representatives with
our disappointment that he is violating this part of his campaign
promises.
This is an item shared by
Charles Yeargan. It speaks to a concern that we face in these
tumultuous times. These are Charles' comments followed by the link to
which he refers. "Article in the link below is the last thing in the
world that I wanted to read. However, after exposure to the opening
assertion that we’re as close to accidental nuclear holocaust today
as we were when the Berlin Wall fell rendered me no more able to stop
reading than a deer can stop staring at a sudden spotlight. It
resurrected in me that old gut-level anxiety that was my almost constant
companion during the late 1950’s and early 1960’s with all the public
talk of open first strike nuclear danger between the U.S. and USSR.
Bottom line of the article is that WE (USA) are maintaining missile
silos in the the midwest which are (a) extremely vulnerable to false
signals, running on old IBM mainframes using floppy discs and (b) not
necessary in light of other systems which are now in place. Because of
that WE (not the USSR or North Korea) are the most likely source of
error messages which can plunge the world into nuclear self-destruction.
One key piece of information that is not addressed in the article has
to do with who’s FAILURE TO MOVE is creating such dangerous inertia.
You’ll want to read the article to understand the details, of course,
but it’s decades past the point when our government should have
de-commissioned those missiles. My point in forwarding is to hopefully
create a large enough wave of awareness to get tens of thousands of
people to register their awareness/concern with respective
representatives and the White House. From my point of view nothing in
our world is a more existential threat; even getting overly
pre-occupied with ISIS (damn them to hell) increases the very real
threat to the existence of all human civilization. Please forward, of
course. http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/world-war-three-by-mistake"
How is tax reform legislation going? According to this piece not all that well. http://www.redstate.com/jaycaruso/2017/04/28/republicans-need-stop-chasing-gdp-growth-fantasies-justify-tax-reductions/?
This item discusses six leftist concepts that should concern most of us. https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/03/22/six-dangerous-leftist-concepts/ And as to their so called compassion, consider this short piece. https://townhall.com/columnists/stephenmoore/2017/03/28/the-false-compassion-of-liberalism-n2304965?
This black commentator
reveals an Obama dark secret in plain site. He links the killings of
whites to Obama's racist rhetoric. http://conservativetribune.com/fox-contributor-obama-legacy/?
If this is true Obama is in deep, deep trouble. http://eaglerising.com/41727/report-obama-used-this-agency-to-spy-on-trump-it-wasnt-the-nsa-the-cia-or-the-fbi-video/
More trouble for Obama. In just his last year in office he spent $36
million of our tax dollars hiding from the public damaging information
about HIS apparent unethical doings. http://eaglerising.com/41730/most-transparent-administration-in-history-look-what-obama-spent-36-million-on-his-final-year-in-office/
This offers even more about Obama's unethical use of our tax dollars.
He apparently funded George Soros to support leftist regimes in foreign
elections. Quote: "The lawmakers outline specific evidence of political
meddling. "We have received credible reports that, over the past few
years, the U.S. Mission there has actively intervened in the party
politics of Macedonia, as well as in the shaping of its media
environment and civil society, often favoring left-leaning political
groups over others," they wrote. This activity was pushed by USAID and
groups associated with Soros' Open Society Foundations, according to the
lawmakers. The organizations are said to have pushed a "progressive
agenda" meant to "invigorate the political left" using taxpayer funds,
according the letter. "Respected leaders from Albania have made similar
claims of U.S. diplomats and Soros-backed organizations pushing for
certain political outcomes in their country," the lawmakers wrote. "Time
and again, foreign leaders visiting Washington have expressed concerns
to us about how American taxpayer funds are being used
counterproductively in their respective countries," the lawmakers
disclosed, referring to efforts undertaken in Latin America and
Africa." http://freebeacon.com/politics/congress-demands-investigation-obama-admin-meddling-foreign-elections/?
Here is more. http://patriotnewsdaily.com/report-high-level-intelligence-official-unmasked-trump-names/ And yet more that suggests Rice's comments may well be questionable. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2017/04/05/former-officials-actually-susan-rices-alleged-unmasking-requests-were-quite-unusual-n2309323? More. http://conservativetribune.com/boiled-rice-exposed-attorney-intel/?
And yet more. This time though the media has become so embarrassed by
the Obama team's incessant lies that some of media types even worked up
the nerve to call them out. https://thehornnews.com/liberal-media-turns-obama-shocking/
Looks like interest is investigating all the shenanigans Soros has been
up to. Now the FBI (Comey) claims Obama was trying to sway the
election in favor of Hillary. This whole mess gets more bazar with
passage of time and revelations spilling out randomly. https://thehornnews.com/nyt-report-fbi-believed-obama-rigging-u-s-election-bombshell/
Trump sets an example for the political left. My guess? They will not change. http://conservativetribune.com/trump-makes-crucial-phone-call/? Their agenda is everything. To them this lady's death while unfortunate represents collateral damage as they pursue their all important political objectives.
This is a strange Trump appointment. http://www.conservativezone.com/articles/who-is-kevin-hassett/ We may need to keep an eye on him.
The whole Syria mess is a real problem for Trump. This item assesses Trump's quick response which the author, a former CIA operative, says was a major misstep. Two Quotes: "But a number of intelligence sources have made contradictory assessments, saying the preponderance of evidence suggests that Al Qaeda-affiliated rebels were at fault, either by orchestrating an intentional release of a chemical agent as a provocation or by possessing containers of poison gas that ruptured during a conventional bombing raid." And, "There is also an internal dispute over the intelligence. On Thursday night, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the U.S. intelligence community assessed with a “high degree of confidence” that the Syrian government had dropped a poison gas bomb on civilians in Idlib province. And, "The mainstream U.S. media has presented the current crisis with the same profound neocon bias that has infected the coverage of Syria and the larger Middle East for decades. For instance, The New York Times on Friday published a lead story by Michael R. Gordon and Michael D. Shear that treated the Syrian government’s responsibility for the poison-gas incident as flat-fact. The lengthy story did not even deign to include the denials from Syria and Russia that they were responsible for any intentional deployment of poison gas." https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/04/09/former-cia-officer-the-intelligence-confirms-the-russian-account-on-syria/
