Newsworthy Items 2

The links in this item reinforces the comments rendered by Judge Jeanine and my remarks.    http://americanactionnews.com/articles/we-don-t-need-no-stinking-rules-nfl-player-arrested-every-7-days    This next item expands the misguided and falsehoods that fan this discussion, provides hard facts and implicates the falsehood of the liberal left's narrative.    http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2017/09/kaepernickitis_is_rooted_in_lies.html   This next piece offers food for thought without emotional rhetoric and focuses on logic and reason.  Quote: "Here’s the bottom line: this conflict isn’t good for the country. We need our shared symbols, and we need our shared spaces. Both of those elements are being destroyed for political and ratings gain. If that doesn’t stop, we’re not going to have anything at all in common anymore."   http://www.dailywire.com/news/21472/trump-vs-nfl-6-things-you-need-know-about-ben-shapirol?   This item affirms the charge that the NFL leadership has a double standard when applying their so called love of the first Amendment regarding their reaction to Trump's comments.  This duplicity and hypocrisy proves it.    http://www.dailywire.com/news/21470/nfls-free-speech-kneeling-anthem-fine-fighting-hank-berrien?
This item points out what many average Americans and rational present and former athletes feel about misguided protests of privileged athletes supporting the political left's false political correctness and destructive social justice narratives.   http://www.libertyplanet.com/articles/americans-take-a-knee-on-nfl-anthem-protests/    The reactions of loyal fans should concern players, NFL bigwigs and team owners.   https://conservativetribune.com/ticked-off-fans-anthem/?   And, Dr. Ben Carson offers a reasoned perspective that players, the NFL league office and team owners need to ponder.    https://www.westernjournalism.com/ben-carsons-perspective-on-nfl-anthem-controversy-goes-viral/?   If you do not think the NFL league office is not filled with left wing hypocrites consider this bit of information in light of their misguided actions last Sunday.  https://conservativetribune.com/nfls-5-cops-dallas-blm-rally/?
This former Democrat elected official is just one of many who fit the disrespectful and irrational mold. She and others like her are the real racists in this unsavory game.  Quote: "A former Democrat Congresswoman has called for every NFL player to kneel during the national anthem at Sunday's games, while branding President Donald Trump a 'white supremacist'. Donna Edwards, who retired as a US representative for Maryland earlier this year, issued the bold statement on Saturday, responding to Trump's criticism of NFL players who refuse to stand for the anthem. 'On Sunday, I hope every @NFL player takes a knee in solidarity w [Colin Kaepernick] against the white supremacist who squats in our White House,' Edwards said in reference to the former San Francisco quarterback, who is now a free agent.    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4913586/Maryland-pol-calls-NFL-players-kneel-Sunday.html   What seems missing from this whole fiasco is why is it okay for blacks and liberal/progressive whites to falsely invoke the term "white supremacist" on people who disagree with their political opinions/narratives all the while by their very own words and actions embrace the concept of their own to the rights of "black supremacy".  This congresswoman joins with Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters and other leftists who do not deserve to be serving the public in elected office.  Their hateful and ugly bias disqualifies them from office.  http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-09-26/    Aren't we all humans regardless of skin color???  Shouldn't we treat each other that way???  That would make for a far better world.
A thoughtful assessment of the whole mess. Quote: "There seems to be so much psychological displacement in the feelings between black and white America that it is next to impossible to sort out what to do next. White Dem-Progs (formerly “liberals”) appear to be so consumed with anxious consternation over the outcome of the long civil rights struggle that they are ready to commit a sort of hara-kiri to atone for their unforgivable cis-whiteness. To some extent, they have attempted to compensate by campaigning for an ever-growing list of other “marginalized” groups in the hopes of showing some positive results for social change — it’s just easier to get significant numbers of homosexuals into the corporate executive suites than to get blacks in there — but the Dem-Progs are still left with the grinding reality of a large, dysfunctional black underclass. They certainly can’t admit that their own contrived “remedies,” such as subsidizing out-of-wedlock births, has anything to do with it, or the devastating effect of “Multiculturalism” on some sort of unifying common culture based on values that everybody can agree on. Similarly, black America displaces their oppositionality to whatever remains of a national common culture into the memes of “systemic racism and injustice.” It has evolved insidiously in their own culture since the 1960s, probably (I believe) as a reaction to the anxiety provoked by the civil rights legislation of 1964-65. It’s really about behavior, especially in school. Are you interested in speaking English? Believe me, that would help a lot in this society. Consider this: Ella Fitzgerald was not singing black or white back in the day. She was just singing."    https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/09/25/take-the-knee/
Another thoughtful piece.  Quote: "Dear NFL Players: In case you’ll only read a few worlds of this story, I’ll get right to the point.  You’re being used. You’re being duped into focusing on the wrong issue: police brutality against black people. If you actually want to solve what’s happening to black people in inner cities, police brutality is way down on the list.  By focusing only on brutality, you’re leading people AWAY FROM seeing what’s really going on in inner cities. You’re guaranteeing NO ANSWERS. You’re guaranteeing NO CHANGE."    https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2017/09/26/open-letter-to-nfl-players-youre-being-used/
This is an example of an owner who has long been friendly with and supportive of Trump and his policies but now chooses to protect his multimillion football enterprise and forsake reason and principles.  Quote: "President Donald Trump has had a cozy relationship with the New England Patriot’s football team. He has a long history of friendships with team owner Robert Kraft, coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. But Kraft, who spoke out about how good of a friend President Trump was to him during his darkest hour, didn’t wait too many hours to stick the knife in the president’s back. “I am deeply disappointed by the tone of the comments made by the President on Friday,” he said in a statement released by the New England Patriots."    https://www.teaparty.org/patriots-owner-trump-friend-robert-kraft-chooses-sides-potus-nfl-fight-267910/     You can decide where his interests lay and the nature of his ethics.
This is purposeful and hateful slandering of Trump solely for seeking support for their hateful and divisive racist narrative.  Such public behavior as this is unwanted and definitely unneeded.  Al Sharpton has long been a race baiter and allowing things like this to be said on his program proves the point.   http://www.libertyheadlines.com/msnbc-guest-trump-wants-blacks-kneeling-cotton-fields/?
The debate expands.  Opinions differ.  We all need to consider the validity or lack thereof of the basis of the undercurrents that drive the debate.  http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/donald-trump-nfl-nascar-national-anthem/2017/09/25/id/815503/?   Here is another cogent perspective and is one that is legitimate.  Quote: "Think about this: On one side, we have people who love the flag, who support the veterans, who support US wars of empire in any far-flung place, who support the massive destruction of life in Iraq and Afghanistan, who support the government with its unending Surveillance State. On the other side, we have people who want to blame the basic conditions of inner cities on police, who want to avoid talking about gangs and shootings and drugs and the failed war on poverty and race baiters and the theft of jobs by Globalists. Entering either of these realms is entering a trance. It may be an active trance, but the game is still hypnosis. “If you can keep your head when all [those] about you are losing theirs…” Controllers are in the business of pitting one trance against another, for profit, advantage, and power. "    https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2017/09/25/trump-goes-to-war-with-nfl-what-happened/   Another interesting take.   http://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/352189-bill-oreilly-nfl-team-owners-run-businesses-not-political-debate-clubs   And, yet another.   https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/09/26/taking-a-piss-on-the-fans/  Here is another very interesting take on the subject taken by a Louisiana state legislature and the use of tax dollars for the benefit of the New Orleans Saints.   https://www.westernjournalism.com/state-legislator-seeks-withdraw-funds-new-orleans-saints-nfl-following-protests/?
Another item of interest.  Quote: "Limbaugh put it all in perspective, offering a quote from former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz. Holtz said: “Two hundred NFL players making millions of dollars take the knee, disrespect the flag, and the president – the leader of this country – doesn’t have the right to say, ‘I think that’s wrong’? This is a workplace environment and he has the right to fire people. He has a right to speak out his mind. This isn’t about race.” Limbaugh contended the last thing the protesters and their organizers want is unity. “The left is not seeking unity with anybody. You see unity on college campus? A conservative comes out to speak, do you see any attempt by the leftist opposition to unify with ’em? No, they bring the cops out and they beat ’em up! They now advocate violence against people who are simply uttering words they disagree with. “Liberal politics succeeds and advances as people are divided, as chaos is created. Obama was an expert at it. Obama was the most divisive president we’ve every had. And all of this stuff, by the way, began when Obama was president, not with Trump.” He said: “First African-American president, supposed to end all of this, right? Didn’t end any of it, did it?”     http://www.wnd.com/2017/09/rush-limbaugh-nfl-just-a-tool-of-leftists/
I have long enjoyed NFL football even knowing the hypocrisy with which the league and owners handled consequential health problems many players suffered playing for their benefit (ie: by refusing due compensation for those who suffered head trauma and other health problems), punishing those who violate NFL rules and coddling/protecting criminal elements in their ranks because their on-field performance enhanced both the league and team owner's bottom lines.  My feelings have changed since this ugly mess emerged mainly because of the dishonesty, greediness and rank hypocrisy that drives this false and divisive leftist narrative and the corruption found within the NFL leadership and players who embrace radical leftist political objectives. Their rank dishonesty of turning Trumps comments regarding respect for the Nation's anthem into a hateful racial rant is totally unacceptable behavior.
