The travesty of human slavery needs to be acknowledged for the blight
it was (and in some quarters remains). The practice of slavery in our
country needs to be put in context the times and historical
perspective. It is irresponsible and irrational to judge past practices
of humans and compare them to todays norms. That does not make what

Bad things should not be condoned nor should they be erased from our
history. Unfortunately in many nations across the globe the practice of
slavery continues to this very day. We should, therefore, rejoice that
it ended as a practice in our country long ago. Racial agitators must
