Israel Security Bill Includes Relief Aid 4 Times The Size Of Gaza's GDP: 'We Are Funding Hamas'

The House of Representatives Israel aid bill is under scrutiny for including more than $9 billion in humanitarian assistance, which is significantly more than the annual gross domestic product of the Gaza Strip, as critics say the U.S. is essentially funding Hamas through the bill.

The Israel bill, which passed in a 366-58 vote Saturday, allocates $26.4 billion in aid to the region, including more than $9.1 billion marked as "Migration and Refugee Assistance" and "International Disaster Assistance," to address the humanitarian needs that arose in the Gaza Strip following the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

The aid is more than four times the amount of the annual GDP in the Gaza Strip, which was about $2 billion last year, according to the United Nations.

While the Israel funding bill calls for the Secretary of State to establish oversight measures to ensure that the aid is not diverted by Hamas, a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist group, the fact that Hamas is the elected government of the Gaza Strip poses a significant challenge to oversight.

"We are funding Hamas. Do you realize the nightmare of this? We are funding Hamas with this 9 billion. What is wrong with this administration?" Klein also said.

Ramzi Awda, the secretary-general of the International Campaign to Combat the Occupation and Apartheid, said during a Palestinian television interview that Hamas has been stealing aid to resell it.

The aid trucks enter Gaza after being checked by the Israelis and an "Armed militia of Hamas" seizes the aid, Awda said earlier this month on Al-Awda TV, a network associated with the Fatah Party that rules the West Bank, according to The Middle East Media Research Institute.

GSK Is The Latest To Join The Growing List Suing Pfizer Over Covid Injections

GlaxoSmithKline is suing Pfizer and BioNTech in Delaware federal court, alleging infringement of GSK's patents on mRNA technology in their covid injections.

As reported by Reuters, GSK alleges in the lawsuit filed on Thursday that Pfizer-BioNTech's Comirnaty injections infringe on GSK's mRNA vaccine patents developed more than a decade before Pfizer began marketing its "Vaccine."

A GSK spokesperson said the company believes its patents "Provided the foundational technology used in Pfizer and BioNTech's covid-19 mRNA vaccines."

London-based GSK asked the court for an unspecified amount of monetary damages from Pfizer and BioNTech that includes an ongoing patent licencing fee.

The lawsuit adds to a web of high-stakes US court cases involving Pfizer, BioNTech and Moderna over patent royalties for technology used in their vaccines, including a case brought by Moderna against Pfizer in 2022.

GlaxoSmithKline is suing Pfizer for patent infringement.

The participants are a left-wing rogues' gallery: The group's host is Norman Eisen, a senior Obama administration official, longtime Trump critic and CNN legal analyst, who has been convening the group since 2022 as Trump's legal woes ramped up.

Rew Weissmann, a longtime federal prosecutor who served as one of the senior prosecutors on Robert Mueller's Trump-Russia investigation and is now a legal analyst for MSNBC, is another regular on the calls.

Jeffrey Toobin, a pioneer in the field of cable news legal analysis, is also a member of the crew.

Trump has claimed that there is a legal conspiracy against him, and there is a risk that news of a group such as this could give Trump and his allies an attractive target.

Mainstream Media Misrepresenting Crime Statistics In Order To Protect Biden

With the November election less than 7 months away, mainstream media outlets are now choosing to misrepresent the current state of crime in the United States, claiming that crime is declining without providing full context or key details.

As the Daily Caller reports, there are two ways in which the federal government measures crime in the United States: The Bureau of Justice Statistics' National Crime Victimization Survey and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniform Crime Reporting.

Whereas the NCVS asks roughly 240,000 Americans whether or not they've been a victim of crime in the last year, the UCR focuses on crimes that have been reported to police within the last year and shared with the FBI. While more people are reporting to the BJS that they have been the victims of crime, the FBI is reporting fewer crimes through the UCR. The UCR claims that violent crime dropped by 2% from 2021 to 2022, while the NCVS shows the exact opposite, reporting that the number of victims of violent crime increased by a staggering 42.4% from 2021 to 2022; this constitutes a rise from 16.5 victims per 1,000 people to 23.5 victims per 1,000.

Many mainstream media outlets such as CBS, NBC, PBS, NPR, Reuters, and The Hill have all turned to the FBI's data to claim, falsely, that crime is on the decline.

"This week, the FBI released data showing that crime declined across nearly every category in 2023," said Biden recently.

"Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, which every Republican in Congress voted against, we made the largest-ever federal investment in fighting and preventing crime at any time in our history."

This directly contradicts broad public sentiment in the United States, with a Gallup poll in December finding that 77% of Americans believe crime is getting worse.

House Speaker Mike Johnson has gone from zero to Mitch McConnell in record time.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday morning signed a foreign aid bill that crawled out of Johnson's GOP House.

Johnson could have forged an adequate deal with Biden: "OK, Mr. President. House Republicans will agree not to spend a dollar on border security. But we need three things from you: Immediately, and for the rest of your presidency, you shall restore President Trump's successful Remain-in-Mexico policy, stop unilaterally paroling illegal aliens into America, and deport all violent felons currently in federal custody."

Johnson reckons, why not simply pass Democrat-friendly bills in the House and get on with it?

Rather than complete McCarthy's passage of seven of 12 individual appropriations bills Johnson filled the Swamp.

Alas, Johnson lacks the media savvy to stage such a simple, powerful event and paint Senate Democrats into a corner.

Biden Will Shield Transgender Athletes Behind Title IX Pronoun Rules

The Biden administration 'rewrite of Title IX requirments is hiding rule changes that could put an end to single-sex K-12 sports as soon as August 2024.

Any mention of transgender athletes was notably absent in the revisions sponsored by Biden's Department of Education, when the rules were first released last week.

Some say the changes are an obvious attempt to thwart state rules banning trans athletes in women's sports.

Title IX, of course, are the federal rules that define sexual discrimination for educational institutions that take federal funding and are part of the civil rights legislation in the 1972 Education Amendments.

According to a review by Gospel Coalition, Biden's administration added "Gender identity" to its rules prohibiting "Sex-based harassment," which expands the coverage from male-female definitions to cover LGBTQ and transgender definitions.

In this Title IX final rule, the Department of Education incorporates the Bostock decision's reasoning, expressly prohibiting discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics in federally funded education programs.

While Biden's rules do not specifically mention transgenderism, education secretary Miguel Cardona noted that this was done on purpose because the "Standards for students participating on male and female athletic teams are evolving in real time." Cardona added that the administration will revisit the rules in due time and the current rules concerning transgenderism are not final as "Separate rulemaking" will be forthcoming.

Central Banks Are Wrong About Rate Cuts

The risk of fixing rates too high does not exist when central banks impose reference rates, as they will always make it easier for state borrowing-artificial currency creation-in the most convenient-what they call "No distortions"-and cheap way.

Many analysts say that central banks do not impose interest rates; they only reflect what the market demands.

Central banks do not buy back state assets, print money, or impose negative real interest rates because they are evil alchemists.

The ECB has announced a possible interest rate cut in June that is in danger of being premature and wrong.

The ECB rate hikes are signaled by many market participants as the cause of the euro zone's stagnation, but curiously, no one mentions that the euro area was already experiencing massive stagnation due to negative interest rates.

Central banks know that inflation is a monetary phenomenon, which is why they attack rising consumer prices with rate hikes and money supply reductions.

The problem of lowering interest rates now, when there is no evidence of having controlled inflation and achieved a target that already erodes the purchasing power of the currency by 2% annually, is to fall into the narrative that the eurozone is in a poor economic situation because of monetary policy when it is due to the wrong fiscal policy, the disaster of the Next Generation EU Funds, whose failure is already only comparable to the forgotten Juncker Plan, a shortsighted and destructive energy, agricultural, and industrial policy, and a taxation system that shifts innovation and technology to other countries.

Now John Eastman, one of the attorneys who worked with former President Donald Trump, has been debanked by both Bank of America and USAA. That USAA debanked Eastman for his ties to the 2020 election contest comes as a surprise.

As USAA grew larger, some customers complained of a decline in quality as USAA increasingly contracted out key services, such as adjustment claims.

This brings us back to the curious case of USAA debanking John Eastman without giving any reason.

In 2023, USAA debanked former Trump attorney John Eastman, citing its right to close an account "For any reason without advance notice." Eastman asked about the closures the bank stated that it was their policy not to disclose any further information.

Regarding USAA's rating, Cameron also added, "As you can see, USAA's rating shows how deeply political activism has seeped into the culture of the insurance company. There are few parts of its business not embracing left-wing ideology. I suspect that most of USAA's members would find alarming its alignment with a progressive agenda."

With this in mind, it's remarkable that one of the many Texas Republicans USAA contributed to was quick to denounce USAA's Eastman debanking.

Glenn Hegar, the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, posted on X that "USAA members deserve better from a company that once embraced its members as heroes but now apparently views them as extremists. This lurch to radical leftist ideology is disgraceful." I agree.

Philly lender Republic First Bancorp seized by feds in latest regional bank collapse

US regulators have seized Republic First Bancorp and agreed to sell it to Fulton Bank, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said Friday, underscoring the challenges facing regional banks a year after the collapse of three peers.

The Philadelphia-based bank, which had abandoned funding talks with a group of investors, was seized by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities.

The FDIC, appointed as a receiver, said Fulton Bank, a unit of Fulton Financial, will assume substantially all deposits and purchase all the assets of Republic Bank to "Protect depositors." Republic Bank, based in Philadelphia, is being sold to Fulton Bank Republic Bank, based in Philadelphia, is being sold to Fulton Bank AP Republic Bank had about $6 billion in total assets and $4 billion in total deposits, as of Jan. 31, 2024.

New York Attorney General Letitia James Trying To Shut Down Every Pro-Life Pregnancy Center

On April 22, 2024, New York Attorney General Letitia James began a carbon-copy notice of litigation against Christian pro-life pregnancy centers.

Ten pro-life pregnancy centers have been served so far for alleged "Misleading statements or omissions in the advertising of the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol." Similar allegations were filed against pro-life groups by abortion advocate and Attorney General Rob Bonta of California in the Fall of 2023.

The pregnancy centers were given five days to respond before the massive legal hammer of the New York Attorney General's office drops.

The attacks on pregnancy centers began on June 7, 2022, with the firebombing of CompassCare's medical office in Buffalo, injuring two firefighters.

New York Attorney General Letitia James conspired with big tech like Google to censure pro-life pregnancy centers, keeping women from finding them on map features.

SCOTUS Justices Signal They May Grant Certiorari in Case of Peaceful J6 Protestor Russell Alford Who Received Maximum Sentence! Justices Ask DOJ to Defend Their Conviction of Alford by May 23

The United States Supreme Court reportedly signaled that they are considering granting Russell Alford, one of the few J6 defendants to refuse a plea deal, his petition for writ of certiorari, a move that only happens for roughly 1% of cases brought to SCOTUS. Alford is one of the 75 January 6 defendants who joined The Gateway Pundit in our official request to RINO Speaker McCarthy last year for the government's January 6 footage.

Despite walking into the Capitol for just 13 minutes on January 6, where "He mostly stood to the side and observed" and "Filmed protestors chanting," then leaving, according to the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, Alford was given the maximum sentence for four crimes, including Remaining in a restricted building, Disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building, Disorderly or disruptive conduct in the Capitol Building and parading, and Demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol Building.

Alford is appealing the ruling from the trial court and Appeals Court that "Passive, quiet and nonviolent conduct can be disorderly." Though the Supreme Court may not be able to help Alford in his other charges of for "Remaining" and "Demonstrating" in the Capitol, this could undermine the convictions of thousands of peaceful protesters who were charged with disorderly conduct.

The court added that Alford left within three minutes of police telling the crowd to leave: Police arrived within about ten minutes of Alford's entry and began physically and verbally directing the crowd back out through the Upper House Door.

Not disorderly; disorderly Alford appealed his convictions on the two charges requiring the government to prove "Disorderly or disruptive conduct." The trial court refused Alford's motion to acquit on those charges, despite the lack of any evidence of such conduct, arguing that he should be held guilty on account of the actions of the other protestors: Mr. Alford's mere presence inside the Capitol disturbed the public peace or undermined public safety" and that "his presence was an aspect of the disorder and disruption of the Capitol.

High Court may help others Should the nation's highest court rule that such peaceful behavior as Alford's cannot be the basis for a disorderly conduct conviction, it may not actually benefit Alford, as his two convictions for "Remaining" and "Demonstrating" in the Capital would still stand and for each he was sentenced to the maximum prison time, as mentioned above, to run concurrently.

Since the maximum sentence for the charge of merely remaining in a restricted building is one year, even vacating the two disorderly charges would still leave Alford facing a year in prison, though he could argue that, without the disorderly charges, one year is excessive for trespassing.

The REPO Act Is 'Trump Proof'

As extreme as the move to freeze Russian assets was, the current effort to steal the Russian assets is even more extreme and potentially dangerous to U.S. standing in the world of international finance.

The REPO Act authorizes the confiscation of certain Russian assets subject to U.S. jurisdiction including U.S. Treasury securities and the use of those assets to support Ukraine in its war against Russia.

The REPO Act says, "The President may confiscate any Russian sovereign assets subject to the jurisdiction of the United States." Such assets confiscated are to be deposited in a "Ukraine Support Fund" to be managed by the State Department and the Agency for International Development.

Section 103 provides that "No Russian asset that is blocked may be released or mobilized until the President certifies that hostilities between the Russian Federation and Ukraine have ceased; and full compensation has been made to Ukraine." Since those conditions are unlikely to be met in any scenario, this means that Trump cannot release the stolen assets since he cannot offer the certification.

The impact of the REPO Act is limited by the fact that only about $10 billion of Russian sovereign assets are actually under U.S. jurisdiction.

The act then says that the assets of the Ukraine Support Fund will be contributed to the Common Ukraine Fund.

The impact of the REPO Act is now being felt by U.S. banks as well.

The Vast Pharmaceutical Conspiracy To Silence Online Dissent

Hiring focus groups to determine what language is the most effective in persuading people to support your position and then blasting it on every public announcement and news station simultaneously.

At the time this began in 2016, it became very clear to me that major online censorship was occurring, some of which was happening behind the scenes and some of which was happening overtly towards easy to target groups which I took as a sign more and more aggressive censorship was going to happen, much of which we would not see.

Prior to my free time getting eaten up by this newsletter, I would often join private online groups with anonymous accounts so I can get a sense of the sociology of different demographics and get a much larger pool of data to work with.

One of the demographics I often sample are groups for healthcare workers and again and again, I was struck by how their discourse always got taken over by left-wing physicians who vehemently hated anything which challenged the pharmaceutical narrative, even when the members made it very clear the pharmaceuticals they were using were clearly failing them.

An online archive shows Team Halo claimed "T.J. 'Pax' Hardy" was an epidemiologist and "Educator for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment" on its site.

Because of how many times I've seen the pharmaceutical industry pull the same scam on the public, I saw through the pandemic propaganda from the very start.

My hope in turn has been that the public's response to what they did during the pandemic will make that lesson clear to them, but since human beings never want to let go of wealth or power, many in the medical and public health establishment have still not come to terms with the fact their way of doing things will no longer fly.

Biden Admin Expands Paths To Muslim Refugees With USCIS Announcement

The Biden Administration Has Dramatically Expanded Migration to U.S. The 125,000 refugees per year ceiling has been operational for a few years.

The Biden administration has fostered other transformative reforms to promote and encourage migration to the U.S. One of the reforms, known as Welcome Corps, has transferred control over the resettlement process to private entities and private individuals, allowing them to "Select their own 'refugees' and future American citizens."

"The Biden administration has also expanded USRAP. In January 2023, it launched the Welcome Corps program, 'the boldest innovation in refugee resettlement in more than 40 years'.

Another program operating under the umbrella of the Welcome Corps was introduced in July 2023 as an education pathway to citizenship for refugees.

The program is called the 'Welcome Corps on Campus' and is designed to welcome refugees straight to U.S. dorms and campuses, allowing for 'U.S. higher education institutions to serve as resettlement spaces and academic opportunities for refugee students.

Welcome Corps is a private sponsorship program for refugees that allows for the selection of refugees with very little oversight-moreover, the program benefits mostly from taxpayer funding.

The program enlists the help of Americans to sponsor refugees with the goal of "mobilizing at least 10,000 Americans to step forward as sponsors.

NIH Defies FOIA, Moderna Vaxx Royalties Paid To Government Remain State Secret

"The U.S. National Institutes of Health is refusing to release additional information about an agreement it reached over a COVID-19 vaccine that has earned it at least $400 million."

The NIH declined to provide any materials in response to a Freedom of Information Act request from The Epoch Times.

'The NIH withholds the entirety of the records as they are protected from release,' Gorka Garcia-Malene, an NIH officer, told The Epoch Times in a letter.

She cited an exemption outlined in the act that allows government agencies to partially or fully withhold information.

"Tens of thousands of people rallied over the weekend in a central Tokyo park to protest the World Health Organization's proposed pandemic treaty and amendments to the International Health Regulations - proposals that critics allege threaten Japan's and other countries' national sovereignty".

Izumi Kamijo, a member of WCH Japan, told The Defender the site was symbolic as it once housed the Sugamo Prison, 'where most of the top government and military people after World War II were detained who refused to collaborate with the occupying force, i.e., General McArthur and the U.S. military.

Woods Exposes The Federal Reserve System

 The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis tells us the Fed's congressional assignment is "To promote maximum employment and price stability." For these it talks about interest rates, and its aim is to increase the money supply so that prices rise gently at or around a 2 percent rate.

After defining the Federal Reserve System - the Fed - as the American central bank enjoying "a government-granted monopoly on the creation of legal-tender money," Woods proceeds to evaluate the Fed from a broad or macro perspective.

Woods takes us back through American history to see how banking and credit developed.

During the period between the expiration of the first Bank of the US and the creation of the Second Bank of the US - 1811-1817 - the government granted banks the privilege of expanding credit unsecured by deposits while allowing them to tell depositors attempting to withdraw their money to "Come back in a couple of years." While banks could be charged with legal counterfeiting and embezzlement, Woods does not use the terms.

The obvious result was a very fragile and undiversified banking system in which banks could be brought to ruin if local conditions turned sour.

As Milton Friedman was fond of pointing out, although the Great Depression claimed over 9,000 American banks, the number of banks that failed in Canada at that time was zero.

Russia To Seize $440 Million From JPMorgan

 As The FT reports, the order, published in the Russian court register on Wednesday, targets funds in JPMorgan's accounts and shares in its Russian subsidiaries, according to the ruling issued by the arbitration court in St Petersburg.

Specifically, The FT notes that the dispute centers on $439mn in funds that VTB held in a JPMorgan account in the US. When Washington imposed sanctions on the Kremlin-run bank, JPMorgan had to move the funds to a separate escrow account.

Under the US sanctions regime, neither VTB nor JPMorgan can access the funds.

In response, VTB last week filed a lawsuit against the New York-based group to get Russian authorities to freeze the equivalent amount in Russia, warning that JPMorgan was seeking to leave Russia and would refuse to pay any compensation.

The following day, JPMorgan filed its own lawsuit against the Russian lender in a US court to prevent a seizure of its assets, arguing that it had no way to reclaim VTB's stranded US funds to compensate its own potential losses from the Russian lawsuit.

Yesterday's decision sided with VTB, ordering the seizure of funds in JPMorgan's Russian accounts and "Movable and immovable property," including its stake of a Russian subsidiary.

Last summer, a Russian court froze about $36mn worth of assets owned by Goldman following a lawsuit by state-owned bank Otkritie.

Biden's Department of Justice argued Thursday before the Supreme Court that droning American citizens is permissible because Obama's DOJ said so, whereas questioning election results isn't OK because the government also says so.

The Supreme Court heard arguments on the scope of presidential immunity after special counsel Jack Smith alleged that former President Donald Trump should be tossed in jail for questioning the administration of the 2020 election.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh posed a series of hypotheticals to DOJ attorney Michael Dreeben about the scope of presidential authority, asking whether Gerald Ford's pardon of Richard Nixon in 1976 could have been investigated for obstruction of justice "On the theory that [Ford was] interfering with the investigation of Richard Nixon." Dreeben suggested that particular case would fall under "Presidential responsibilities that Congress cannot regulate." "How about President Obama's drone strikes?" Kavanaugh asked.

"The president wasn't personally carrying out the strike, but the aiding and abetting laws are broad, and it determined that a public authority exception that's built into statutes and that applied particularly to the murder statute, because it talks about unlawful killing, did not apply to the drone strike." "So this is actually the way that the system should function. The Department of Justice takes criminal law very seriously," Dreeben continued.

Three of the four were "Not specifically targeted." The other conservative justices expressed skepticism about the lack of presidential immunity throughout oral arguments, with Justice Samuel Alito saying a president would be in a "Peculiarly precarious position" if he had to worry about being indicted for actions taken while in office.

Trump's lawyer, D. John Sauer, argued that "Without presidential immunity from criminal prosecution, there can be no presidency as we know it." "For 234 years of American history, no president was ever prosecuted for his official acts," Sauer argued.

Banks Spied On Trump Supporters For Biden

A new report reveals that there are now at least 13 banking institutions that were recruited by the Biden administration to spy on customers, without warrants, in the aftermath of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol.

It is the Daily Mail that said in addition to the alleged involvement of Bank of America, Chase, U.S. Bank, Wells Fargo, Citi Bank and Truist in the illicit spying, seven others now have been implicated.

Those all are being investigated by the U.S. House "For colluding with the federal government to spy on Americans" after the protest that turned into a riot, the report said.

The report explained the situation was that the Biden bureaucrats conspired with banks to look for indicators of "Extremism," "Like the purchase of a religious text, like a Bible, or searches including the terms 'MAGA' and 'TRUMP,'" the report confirmed.

The banking corporations apparently all were contacted by the U.S. Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network or FBI about spying on Americans' private banking actions - without any charges or warrant involved.

Records uncovered by investigators already show that FinCEN and the FBI got data on hundreds of individuals as a result of work with just one of the banks.

House investigators also have charged the Biden administration "Urged" crowdfunding platforms to search their own customers' records, the report said.

The Daily Mail report notes Biden's plan, revealed in a footnote, demands a top marginal rate on long-term capital gains dividends of up to 44.6%. That would put the actual tax rate higher than 50% in states like California, New Jersey and New York.

The tax rate comes in a footnote from the General Explanations of the Administration's Fiscal Year 2025 Revenue Proposals.

WND had reported only a day earlier Biden was threatening Americans in the nation's middle class with a huge tax increase if he's re-elected.

Possible Arson Attack Destroys 'CDM/Georgia Record' Storage Unit

A storage unit for CDM/The Georgia Record was completely burned in a likely arson attack in Miami recently.

The only units damaged in the massive warehouse with hundreds of lockers, were CDM's unit, along with those alongside.

Upon speaking with the building's owner, CDM was informed the surveillance cameras inside the warehouse were turned off at the time of the fire.

The fire department investigation could not determine a cause of the fire.

A Harvard University meta-analysis funded by the National Institutes of Health concluded that children who live in locations with highly fluoridated water have "Significantly lower" IQ scores than those who live in low fluoride areas.

As the AP noted, "Under the proposed compact, each state would allocate all its electoral votes to whoever wins the national popular vote for president, regardless of how individual states voted in an election."

The media understand this, as a recent ABC News headline shows: "State law takes U.S. a step closer to popular vote deciding presidential elections".

Hertz To Sell More EVs As Q1 Loss Exceeds Expectations

 Hertz Global Holdings Inc has raised the number of electric vehicles it plans to sell this year as it is cutting its EV fleet to reduce losses that have weighed on the car rental giant's earnings.

In the first quarter, Hertz upsized its EV disposition plan by 10,000 vehicles, for a total of 30,000 EVs intended for sale in 2024.

The company incurred a $195 million charge to vehicle depreciation to write down the EVs held for sale which were remaining in inventory at quarter-end to fair value and recognize the disposition losses on EVs sold in the period, Hertz said in a statement on Thursday.

Hertz reported a much larger loss for the first quarter than analysts had forecast.

Following the earnings release on Thursday, Hertz's stock crashed by 21% on the NASDAQ as of 10:03 a.m. EDT. Hertz was an early mover in buying EVs to rent to customers, but it and other car rental companies have recently started to sell the EVs they had previously purchased due to weaker customer demand for EV rentals.

Hertz, unlike other rental firms, has a more risky approach because it fully owns all the EVs it has bought and is losing money if the resale value slumps.

Earlier this year, Hertz said in a regulatory filing to the SEC it is selling roughly one-third of its electric vehicle fleet, highlighting the risk of its first-mover strategy when it comes to EVs.

Supreme Court Seems Open To Allowing Some Presidential Immunity, May Delay Trump Trial

The Supreme Court seemed skeptical on April 25 of former President Donald Trump's claim that he should receive absolute criminal immunity, but it appeared to be open to allowing some level of immunity for presidents.

This would further delay President Trump's trial in Washington and possibly other proceedings in Georgia, Florida, and New York, handing him a strategic win as he seeks to hold up cases until after the November presidential election.

Implications for Trump's Cases President Trump has argued that he should receive absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for acts that fell within the outer perimeter of his official duties.

The justices decided to tackle a narrower question: "Whether and if so to what extent does a former president enjoy presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office?".

Experts have speculated to The Epoch Times that the Supreme Court will likely broaden the scope of presidential immunity to include criminal liability but to a more limited extent than what President Trump has requested.

DOJ Won't Comply With Congressional Subpoena For Biden Audio From Robert Hur Interview

The Justice Department notified Congress on Thursday that it will not comply with a subpoena for audio recordings of President Biden's interview with former Special Counsel Robert Hur.

Jordan and Comer have threatened to launch contempt proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland if the DOJ does comply with the subpoena.

Uriarte argued that the DOJ has complied, by releasing transcripts of Hur's interview with Biden and other documents related to the federal investigation into the president's handling of classified documents.

The DOJ official charged the Judiciary and Oversight committees with failing to "Identify a need for these audio files grounded in legislative or impeachment purposes."

The DOJ had already rebuffed an earlier demand for audio of Hur's interview with Biden, arguing that releasing the recording would make it more difficult for prosecutors to secure interviews with witnesses or suspects in future investigations.

Jordan and Comer issued the subpoena for the audio files in late February.

In addition to the Biden interview transcript, the DOJ has also released a transcript of Hur's interview with the president's ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer.

Special Counsel Jack Smith and other federal prosecutors in President Biden's Department of Justice indicted Trump in June 2023 for allegedly mishandling classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home.

Following Trump's departure from office, the National Archives and Records Administration began "To work with the White House Office of Records Management on exaggerated claims related to records handling under the Presidential Records Act," a motion to compel discovery from Trump's attorney's states.

The filing alleges that Deputy White House Counsel Jonathan Su asked one of Trump's PRA representatives to permit an undisclosed individual to access "Notes from the Trump administration relating to records handling." The filing alleges that Su did not disclose that NARA "Had already drafted a referral letter and contacted DOJ.".

Biden's Department of Energy also allegedly revoked Trump's security clearance after Smith indicted Trump in June 2023, according to a 2024 motion to compel discovery from Trump's lawyers posted on X by Kelly.

Trump "Requested additional disclosures relating to the Energy Department's determination and other security clearance issues" but the office allegedly "Declined to provide any additional information."

DOJ prosecutor Jay Bratt tried to bribe Walt Naut's lawyer Stanley Woodward in order to get his client to testify against Trump.

Bratt brought up Woodward's application for a judgeship and suggested it would be blocked unless he forced his client to testify against Trump.

Trump's aide Waltine Nauta was indicted by the Florida grand jury hearing evidence in Jack Smith's classified documents case.

Walt Nauta is a former White House employee and Navy veteran who worked valet for Trump and served as a personal staffer at Mar-a-Lago.

Lawless Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs Vetoes Bill to Require Proof of Residency for Voting

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs on Tuesday vetoed legislation that would define residency in Arizona and require proof of residency, such as a home rental agreement or ownership, to vote in the state's elections.

Hobbs stole the 2022 election for Governor from Kari Lake, and she is getting ready to rig the 2024 election for Joe Biden.

SB 2581 stipulates that "a resident is an individual who has actual physical presence in the state for at least one hundred eighty-one days with the intent to remain" but provides exceptions for individuals to vote if they provide evidence of employment, residential property, child school enrollment, and active duty military service.

Hobbs' veto comes as flyers instructing illegal immigrants to vote for Joe Biden in the forthcoming U.S. election have been reportedly distributed at a non-governmental organization in Mexico, according to an investigation by The Oversight Project, a watchdog initiative linked to the Heritage Foundation.

Voters are not required to show proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections on a "Federal only" ballot.

Hobbs vetoed SB 2581, claiming that it "Creates additional, unnecessary barriers for individuals registering to vote." Critics of the bill claim that it would bar out-of-state college students from voting in Arizona's elections as the bill defines "Resident" as an individual physical presence in the state for 181 days with the intent to remain.

Judge Unseals Documents Showing FBI Discussed 'Loose Surveillance' Of Trump's Plane

 A large tranche of documents were unsealed by Judge Aileen Cannon on Monday, revealing the FBI's code name for the probe.

A federal judge overseeing former President Donald Trump's classified documents case unsealed a new trove of documents on Monday, revealing the FBI's code name for the investigation and how the FBI spoke about performing "Loose surveillance" on the former president's aircraft before an unprecedented raid in 2022.

Among the documents the judge released Monday also included an FBI claim from June 2022 in which a counterintelligence official, whose name was not included, talked about carrying out "Loose surveillance" on President Trump's plane to see if "Boxes were loaded onto the plane."

The judge also unsealed an FBI document that detailed the FBI raid targeting the former president's Mar-a-Lago residence in South Florida in August 2022 when agents combed through his property to retrieve the documents.

In the newly unsealed filing, it noted that four agents from the FBI Washington field office, 25 agents from the FBI Miami office, one FBI official from the agency's headquarters, one Department of Justice counterintelligence and export control lawyer, and one official from the U.S. Attorney's office for the Southern District of Florida were involved.

More documents released Monday included an alleged witness giving an interview to the FBI. They were identified only as "Person 16" who allegedly worked in the Trump White House.

Neither President Trump nor Mr. Nauta have responded via their attorneys to the release of the documents.

Ron Paul Destroys Mike Johnson For Betraying America

Former US Congressman Ron Paul has gone completely ham on Speaker Mike Johnson, first - writing in a recent Op-Ed that Johnson has "Betrayed liberty and the Constitution" after reauthorizing FISA surveillance but casting the deciding vote that tanked an amendment to require a warrant.

With Biden's $60 billion in funding for Ukraine now fully authorized and implemented, the question is now what? The US President on Wednesday announced just after signing the bill that the Pentagon will start sending equipment to Ukraine "In the next few hours" straight from the US stockpile.

The Kremlin in response is vowing to push back the front lines deeper into Ukraine, and says that newly infused American weapons will burn.

The new policy requires that all men 18 to 60 must update their information with a state office - and if they don't comply then they get cut off from all consular services abroad. According to The New York Times, US weapons could start arriving in Ukraine within days.

Can the Swamp be Drained?

Discretionary spending accounts for over a quarter of annual federal government spending and is subject to the whims of Congress on a yearly basis.

In 1999 discretionary spending amounted to $572 Billion, in 2023 $1.72 trillion, or an increase of 200% while the cumulative rate of inflation since 1999 is 82%. 2023 discretionary spending was larger than the annual gross domestic product of Australia or South Korea.

There is virtually no appetite in Washington, D.C. to cut spending as numerous companies and countless organizations are feeding from the seemingly bottomless trough continuously being replenished by 535 mostly self-serving members of Congress who will not curtail spending as they benefit from sizeable political donations from 13,000 lobbyists spending over $4 billion a year, the millions of dollars in unaccountable "Dark money," and the personal profit from insider information.

Then there are the 430 departments, agencies, and sub-agencies and the millions of federal employees issuing regulations and edicts while effectively distributing or spending unfathomable sums of money.

Finally, there is the increasingly Left-leaning federal judiciary which will be sympathetic to legal actions filed in opposition to any executive orders issued by Trump to dismiss vast numbers of federal employees or to curb the spending, regulatory, intelligence gathering, and audit powers of any government agency.

The judiciary will stymie virtually any attempt to use executive orders to "Drain the swamp." The leviathan that is the "Swamp" has been allowed to grow to the point where it cannot be drained on an incremental basis.

Government has become so large and corrupt that the only means of potentially "Draining the"swamp" is by abolishing entire departments and agencies, thus reducing discretionary spending and potentially eliminating corruption.

The citizenry, while claiming to be upset that the government is too big or intrusive, needs to elect to Congress those pledged to reduce spending and corruption.

If Donald Trump, the Republican Party, and candidates running for Congress campaign on "Draining the swamp" they must lay out the following plan on how to accomplish it.

All 430 departments, agencies, and sub-agencies were created by acts of Congress and signed into law by the president; therefore, Congress and the president can eliminate and/or restructure any or all of them.

If Trump regains the White House and the Republicans win control of Congress and they fail to do what is necessary to fulfill their pledge to "drain the swamp" then the "Swamp" will continue to grow incrementally larger, become more corrupt and intrusive, and evolve into being essentially drain-proof.

Another State Joins Scheme Making Its Own Presidential Votes Meaningless

Maine has become the newest state to adopt a controversial scheme that would give the presidency to the winner of each election's "National Popular Vote" and would, in effect, potentially permanently cancel any decision the state's own voters might make.

It joins Maine to a controversial idea that would give all of its Electoral College votes to the winner of that national vote, thus turning over ultimate presidential election power to 12 states: California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey and Virginia.

The decision in Maine means it is joining 16 other states and Washington, D.C., in the plan, which already has pledged 209 electoral votes.

Proponents of the new idea say they don't need a constitutional amendment, which would be nearly impossible to obtain, because it's just an agreement among states to allocate their Electoral College votes in ways they are allowed.

"In 2020, if 21,461 voters had changed their minds, Joe Biden would have been defeated, despite leading by over 7 million votes nationally. Each of these 21,461 voters was 329 times more important than the 7 million voters elsewhere," the compact promoters charge.

ABC reported Darrell West, of the Brookings Institute, explained, "If you look at all the presidential elections from 1992 through 2020, Republicans have won the presidential popular vote only once - and that was in 2004 when [George W.] Bush beat John Kerry in the popular vote. In every other election over the last 30 years, Democrats have won the popular vote, but because of the Electoral College, Republicans have gotten the presidency a couple of times despite losing the popular vote."

WHO Is NOT Backing Down On Its Pandemic Plans; There Is No "Major Victory For Freedom"

Please note that there are two instruments that WHO is attempting to have ratified at the next World Health Assembly taking place from 27 May to 1 June 2024: the IHR amendments; and, the Pandemic Treaty, also referred to as the Pandemic Accord, Pandemic Agreement and WHO Convention Agreement +. Both instruments are intended to achieve the same aim.

Although there have been several drafts of the proposed Pandemic Treaty, there has been little official information released regarding the IHR amendments.

Bearing the above in mind, in the video below TalkTV's Julia Hartley-Brewer interviewed Professor Carl Heneghan on Tuesday about the World Health Organisation's latest draft IHR and its pandemic plans.

The government's response was: "To protect lives, the economy and future generations from future pandemics, the UK government supports a new legally binding instrument to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness and response." The Government did not consider a referendum necessary, appropriate, or in keeping with precedent for such an agreement to be ratified.

The latest revisions include additions and deletions that must be agreed upon before the final vote to approve them at the World Health Assembly in late May. It's taking the TTE office some time to process these regulations, but four interlocking definitions are of the utmost importance: early action alert, public health emergency of international concern, pandemic emergency and pandemic.

What Is Emergency Use Authorization?

During the Covid pandemic, the U.S. government spent billions of dollars on nearly 400 products intended to protect, diagnose, and treat hundreds of millions of people – all with the label “EUA” or “Emergency Use Authorization.” But what does EUA actually mean?

If we only understand one thing about EUA it should be this: EUA does not apply to a product undergoing a clinical trial governed by FDA regulations or other legal requirements.

Now let's look at what types of emergency situations EUA is legally designed to address.

Given such a narrow type of truly extreme emergency situation involving a WMD attack, it is understandable why the EUA "Access mechanism" does not require a lot of regulatory oversight or adherence to any manufacturing or clinical trial standards.

The FDA needs to make sure that it meets four "Statutory criteria" when it issues the EUA. The FDA has to "Impose certain required conditions" in the EUA. EUA Step 1: Declaring a CBRN Emergency.

The emergency declaration for EUA is separate and unrelated to any other emergency declarations that may be issued by the President, the HHS Secretary, or anyone else.

For the FDA to issue an EUA, the CBRN agent(s) referred to in the HHS Secretary's EUA declaration must be capable of causing a serious or life-threatening disease or condition.

Medical products that may be considered for an EUA are those that "May be effective" to prevent, diagnose, or treat serious or life-threatening diseases or conditions that can be caused by a CBRN agent(s) identified in the HHS Secretary's declaration of emergency or threat of emergency under section 564(b).

Cowardice, Not Courage, Led House Republicans To Side With The Democrats

 Over the weekend, the House of Representatives passed four foreign aid bills that will allocate a combined $95 billion to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and other "National security priorities." House Republicans followed Speaker Mike Johnson's lead and joined with Democrats to deliver all the foreign aid President Joe Biden wanted without requiring much of anything in return.

The passage came after House Republicans had handed the president similar victories with Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act reauthorization and government spending.

Every Republican candidate claims to support spending cuts.

Recently, Republicans have had to navigate their base growing more skeptical of Washington's hyperactive foreign policy.

To their credit, some Republicans were serious enough to try to use their small House majority to make as big a dent in the above problems as possible.

In the end, Mike Johnson and the so-called moderate Republicans gave in on all three fronts.
