Government Misconduct 1

This item provides a very good example of how well intended "political" albeit government decisions far too often have very serious and far reaching negative consequences.  Quote: "If governments subsidized car-insurance policies the way they do with flood insurance, we’d see more drunks driving Ferraris around, at the expense of taxpayers. Getting the government out of the flood insurance business and having insurance companies determine actuarially sound premiums is the only way for homeowners, businesses, and builders to know the real risk they are assuming. If the risk is high, premiums will be prohibitive, and building will migrate to areas less prone to flooding. Unfortunately, the prospects for reform are low. Eliminating the National Flood Insurance Program is impossible politically. How likely are even modest policy reforms about premiums or redrawing flood plain maps to better reflect real risk? Such proposals are drowned out by politicians who score easy points by blaming the damage on climate change and passing popular rebuilding bills."    https://fee.org/articles/how-the-government-turns-natural-disasters-into-catastrophes/?

The US postal service admits it violated the law when it let employees work on Hillary's presidential campaign.    http://patrioticviralnews.com/articles/us-postal-system-in-hot-water-over-illegal-campaigning-for-hillary-clinton/   Their obvious motive was no doubt an attempt to elect someone who permits fraud, waste and abuse and was the candidate most likely to fund the organization that loses money every year and which should have been privatized years ago.

This is terrible behavior by DOL leadership denying benefits due families resulting from harm employees suffered while working with nuclear materiel. Quote: "Under the law, the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA), qualified workers or their survivors who were diagnosed with certain types of cancer or other diseases from exposure to toxic substances at covered facilities are entitled to between tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation to help pay medical bills and loss of wages due to their illnesses, with a cap of $400,000."   http://freebeacon.com/issues/nuclear-workers-call-congressional-investigations-charges-labor-department-whistleblower/?

There is no end to the stupid things our government wastes our money on.  This is one of hundred maybe even thousands of examples.   http://teapartyjournal.com/fed-grants-138k-for-study-on-gender-identity-of-children/   Another stupid but definitely politically correct fraud, waste and abuse item.   http://freebeacon.com/politics/feds-spend-587441-make-engineering-safe-zone-lgbtq-students/?

Letting federal government bureaucracies go without oversight is insanity.    https://www.conventionofstates.com/top_federal_agencies_gone_without_oversight?   Same sort of thing goes on here.  Quote: "The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) must be anxious to get on my list of government bureaucracies that shouldn’t exist."

Have you wondered why so many wild fires are consuming vast area of national and state own lands?  This item reveals the reasons.  Quote: "President Trump promised to bring fresh ideas and policies to Washington. Now Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue are doing exactly that in a critically important area: forest management and conflagration prevention. Their actions are informed, courageous, and long overdue. Westerners are delighted, and I’ve advocated such reforms since my days on Capitol Hill in the 1980s. As of September 12, amid this typically long, hot, dry summer out West, 62 major forest fires are burning in nine states, the National Interagency Fire Center reports. The Interior Department and Ag Department’s Forest Service have already spent over $2 billion fighting them. That’s about what they spent in all of 2015, previously the most costly wildfire season ever, and this season has another month or more to go. The states themselves have spent hundreds of millions more battling these conflagrations."   And,  "These forests could and should create jobs and generate revenues in states where far too many lands, timber, oil, and minerals have been placed off limits – primarily by urban politicians, judges, and radical activists who seem determined to drive people off these Western lands, turn them into playgrounds for the wealthy, and roll back other Americans’ living standards and well-being. Cleaning out dead, diseased, burned, overgrown trees would bring countless benefits. It would make our forests healthy again."

This is for anyone who may still think Obama was a good steward of our nation's fiscal resources. Quote: "A probe into the HUD program revealed that for the last eight years Loren has been funneling money from her government credit cards to buy personal items for herself and her family. Purchases were made for things like food, clothing, medicine, appliances, furniture, and even alcohol. She even used $24,600 to pay rent for her son.  In light of these shocking crimes, Loren has been charged with intent to commit federal fraud and could face five years in prison. Yet Loren is not alone. Countless employees on all levels have been funneling money out of the program. In 2013, HUD Inspector General David A. Montoya, testified before Congress that there was evidence of corruption and embezzlement in the program in nearly every state across the country."    https://www.teaparty.org/breaking-ben-carson-makes-horrifying-discovery-267149/   The truth is that Obama promoted an environment of discord, corruption, fraud, waste and abuse. Postmortems from his presidency prove the point.  That said the problem did not start with him.  It has long existed in our over sized/bloated government which facilitates such behavior no matter the party in power.  Greedy, dishonest, unethical self centered well positioned government employees with access to fungible funds can and do take advantage.  Waste and abuse is likewise found in slovenly, hard to fire, union protected employees.

Hopefully this will help stop massive fraud by the procurement operative in the Army, both civilian and military.    http://teapartyjournal.com/mattis-slams-pentagon-for-wasting-28m/

It is definitely government misconduct when governments at any level fails to examine all the facts and instead play the awful misguided and fateful political left's political correctness game.  Quote: "Spencer noted four separate studies since 1999 found that 80 percent of U.S. mosques were teaching jihad, Islamic supremacism, and hatred and contempt for Jews and Christians.  Pointing out there are no studies that challenge these results, he also cited the testimony of Sheikh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, a Sufi Muslim leader who visited 114 mosques in the United States. Kabbani testified before a State Department Open Forum in January 1999 that 80 percent of American mosques taught the “extremist ideology.”   http://www.wnd.com/2017/09/police-chief-cries-islamophobia-as-mosque-exposed/    Read the whole thing to get to the bottom line.
