Newsworthy Items 1

This item addresses the unpleasant and unfortunate lingering effects of WWI has had on our country.  Quote: "Attacking speech, ruining farms.  World War I exposed the cravenness and authoritarianism of progressive intellectuals. As journalist Randolph Bourne wrote, “‘Loyalty,’ or rather war orthodoxy, becomes the sole test for all professions, techniques, occupations. Particularly is this true in the sphere of the intellectual life.” Bourne lamented:  It has been a bitter experience to see the unanimity with which the American intellectuals have thrown their support to the use of war-technique in the crisis in which America found herself. Socialists, college professors, publicists, new-republicans, practitioners of literature, have vied with each other in confirming with their intellectual faith the collapse of neutrality and the riveting of the war-mind on a hundred million more of the world’s people…. Herd-instinct became herd-intellect.""  And, "Despite winning the war, Wilson’s Democratic Party was crushed at the polls in both 1918 and 1920. H.L. Mencken wrote on the eve of the 1920 election that Americans were sickened of Wilsonian “idealism that is oblique, confusing, dishonest, and ferocious.” Unfortunately, the recoil against bogus idealism was temporary. Starting in 2002, George W. Bush practically recycled Wilson en masse to whip up fervor for invading Iraq.  Have today’s policymakers learned anything from the debacle a century ago? Wilson continues to be invoked by politicians who believe America can achieve great things by warring abroad. The bellicosity of both Republican and Democratic leaders is a reminder that Wilson also failed to make democracy safe for the world."     https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/09/24/how-world-war-one-still-haunts-america/
This item suggests that liberals are wrong about what is holding down minorities.  Quote: "There are many African Americans struggling to make ends meet in our society and liberals claim to be fighting for them.  The Federalist Papers reported that noted economist Walter E. Williams believes the issue facing African Americans isn’t racial repression like the Left claims, but a much deeper issue. It’s the collapse of the traditional family structure."  And, "According to Williams, “The No. 1 problem among blacks is the effects stemming from a very weak family structure. Children from fatherless homes are likelier to drop out of high school, die by suicide, have behavioral disorders, join gangs, commit crimes and end up in prison. They are also likelier to live in poverty-stricken households.”  He cites an interesting statistic to prove his point that the collapse of the family, not racism, is at fault. Williams claims that in 1960 there were only 22 percent of children raised in single parent homes. That number skyrocketed to 70 percent of black children growing up in single parent homes in 2010.  Another statistic he uses states that 11 percent of black children were born to unwed women in 1938. That number has similarly jumped to 75 percent. He uses these two facts to make perhaps his boldest statement in the article, “the black family was stronger the first 100 years after slavery than during what will be the second 100 years.”     https://www.teaparty.org/professor-exposes-whats-holding-minorities-not-liberals-claim-267356/    Williams is one hundred percent correct.  Who created this situation?   Why, it was the progressive/liberals of course.  Family destruction and government dependency laws implemented in LBJ's so called War on Poverty got this whole mess started.  And get this, he was a racist to boot. He once declared as he got the program off the ground that he would, to paraphrase, "...have those nig****'s voting Democrat for the next 100 years".
Here is what another black man, Larry Elder, has to say about the facts regarding problems in the black community.  Quote: “The idea that a racist white cop shooting unarmed black people is a peril to black people is BS,” said Elder.  “It’s complete and total BS. And the reason for these so-called activists saying this is the assumption that racism remains a major problem in America, and the media, CNN  and especially MSNBC, runs down whenever a black cop shoots somebody, and it’s [then] some march in Washington. It’s ridiculous.”  Half the homicides in this country are committed by and against black people,” said Elder. “Last year there were 14,000 homicides – not talking about suicides, I’m talking about homicides —  half of them were black [and] 96% of them were black on black of that 7,000. Where’s the Black Lives Matter on that?” Larry Elder, 65, is the author of the best-seller, The 10 Things You Can’t Say in America. He is the son of a janitor. He was reared in South Central Los Angeles. He earned his B.A. from Brown University and his JD from the University of Michigan School of Law. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is the host of the radio program, “The Larry Elder Show.”  https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/09/26/fatherless-families-are-no-1-problem-in-america-not-racism/   The fact of the matter is that the political left is stoking the flames of hatred and racism to cause problems as part of their political strategy to cause a revolution which they intend to win.
This item deals with the current state of affairs within our country and the judicial system gone awry.  Quote: "In a rational, liberal society, there should be debate and division, within the context of an agreed upon set of rules. What the court is doing in America is questioning the very idea of rules. They are claiming for themselves the right to make up whatever they feel like in the moment, in whatever incoherent fashion they choose. This is not judicial activism, so much as it is judicial anarchism. The founders never contemplated such a thing and our political class is based on the assumption that this is impossible. Ultimately, a break down in civil order always ends the same way. Whether it is the result of civil war in the ruling class or a war between the ruling class and the people, there is a collapse in moral authority. Everyone loses respect for the old rules, which kept the old order. What comes next is also predictable. A man on a horse rides in and has the will and the means to impose order. That’s what comes next if the political class does not suppress what looks like a revolt from the bench. Otherwise, someone else will."   https://www.theburningplatform.com/2017/09/26/judicial-anarchism/
A Personal Commentary:  President Trump's recent comments regarding his feelings about some within the NFL disrespecting the National Anthem has created a firestorm.  Trump was wrong to enter the fray and even used some inappropriate words that could easily be misinterpreted/manipulated. However, I agree with the intent of what he said and disagree with the vitriolic responses/reactions of so many.  The current state of national and individual discord has long been coming. He did not start it, he inherited it from the past eight years of the Obama era's defense and support of racism of Black Lives Matter, Antifa, political correctness and hate filled rhetoric.. At the root of the issue is the political left's persistent efforts at forcing identity politics and political correctness into the mainstream.  That root can be found in Cultural Marxism which seeks to divide people into groups and create problems between them.  Their objective is cultural discord.  They have succeeded.  Other examples include strait vs LBGT sexual views, religion vs religion or selected religious beliefs, feminist vs non-feminist, pro abortion vs pro life, white vs black, Republican vs Democrat, rich vs poor, etc, etc..  Normal differences that open and honest debates pro and con typically produce to reach resolution no longer work.  Emotional arguments on both sides inhibit debate. The political left's application of Cultural Marxism encourages emotionally based divisions that produce intractable differences in order to enable opportunities for solutions that favor leftist political objectives to emerge.  This has been underway in our country for at least the past 100 years and similar efforts around the world throughout history.  The use of hatred of Jews and pursuit of a pure Arian race while not the sole reason serves as an example that contributed to WWII.  In this case the charges by the political left that Trump is a hateful White Supremacist is provocation designed to incite reciprocal reactions on the part of those who agree with him.  The war in this case is a Cultural Marxist one designed to discredit a sitting President so the population will turn against him in favor of their preferred socialist Democrat replacement.  The manipulated masses are pawns in this political game sponsored by progressive socialist Democrats who want permanent control over our nation. Trump upset the table Obama set for Hillary so the political left has a vendetta against him. Trump is in their way so they want to get rid of him. That in a nut shell is what the rancor and vitriol is all about. The following items extend the conversation.
This former judge issues a thoughtful rebuke to the NFL commissioner and players who willingly take the benefits offered them by our country and yet choose to disrespect it.  She was responding to the commissioner's condemnation of President Trump pointing out that those who play the game, NFL executives and player leaders who engage in the hateful,  political correctness and social justice game of disrespectimg the country that has given them so much.  She points out how disrespectful so many of the players are to women and others in society given the horrendous level of criminal arrests they have relative to the general population.    http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/09/23/judge-jeanine-slams-anthem-protesters-roger-goodell-shame-on-you/   This is a side of the debate that the politically left mainstream media will not report because it undermines their America is racist narrative and that those of us on the political right are White Supremacists.  That is hogwash and they know it but do not care if they impugn the integrity and reputations of those who do not buy into their false narratives which exist for their political purposes only.  It is worthy of note that there are many among the NFL players who are really good people (whites and players of color) doing much good in their communities.  They should be recognized and applauded for the good they do.  But, that does not erase the fact that while many NFL members are really good athletes they are not nice or good people and do not deserve the accolades they get and the protections the NFL and wealthy team owners provide.  Making money is their motive and that drives compromised ethics and decision making.  It is an accepted fact that far too many coddled athletes think they can get away with anything simply because they are good athletes.
For those who might think that Judge Jeanine's comments on the number of arrests of NFL players was made up drivel check out this the facts found in this link comes from NFLArrest.com, which “provides an interactive visualized database of National Football League player Arrests & Charges.”   Quote: "The average length of time between every NFL arrest is a mere seven days. The longest the NFL has ever gone without having one of its players arrested is 65 days. It’s interesting that such a minute portion of the population–comprised of millionaires–should see such a high number of frequent arrests. According to the data, 2006 was one of the worst years for professional football players–71 arrests were made. Meanwhile, 2013 saw 62 arrests. And this year, the year of NFL protests, we’re at 32 arrests already. The crimes for which the athletes are apprehended vary wildly. Many of them are violent. The top crimes perpetrated by members of the NFL are, in descending order, DUI, drugs, domestic violence, assault, and disorderly conduct."  And, "So, maybe — just maybe — NFL players aren’t the best ones to be preaching to America about the perils of police brutality."   https://www.teaparty.org/alert-nfls-criminal-secret-surfaces-horrifying-268273/
