Both the Bush and Obama administrations have stretched beyond belief the
life or death powers of the president. The Obama Department of Justice
has released a memo justifying the power of the president to order
the assassination of US citizens without charges or trial. Please read
this item to see how perverse both administrations view the powers of
presidents over American citizens...they believe the president can on
his own determine who are enemies of the state. Bush started the whole
sordid process but Obama has gone steps further. This is truly a
chilling piece. It is far past time for the people to rein in our rogue
government - make a stink with your elected representatives. As the
author notes "If you believe the president has the power to order US
citizens executed far from any battlefield with no charges or trial,
then it’s truly hard to conceive of any asserted power you would find
objectionable."
