Seeking Daylight On The Administrative State

Our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com recently determined from official Federal Freedom of Information Act filings that we pay Beltway bureaucrats in the federal executive agencies outside of the Defense Department and the U.S. Post Office some $576 million per day.

After working just three years for the federal government, employees have 44 days of paid time off.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, normally a staunch ally of the Biden Administration, had to call for getting federal employees back to work to revive the city's economy.

In March 2023, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration found that "The number of delinquent Federal civilian employees has increased by 32 percent from Fiscal Years 2015 to 2021." Some 149,000 federal employees owe $1.5 billion in back taxes!

Unlike its predecessors, the Biden Administration has redacted key information on federal workers.

In the years 2021 and 2022, we filed 100,000+ FOIA requests and successfully captured $19 trillion government expenditures: nearly all federal spending; 50 state checkbooks; and 25 million public employee salary and pension records from 50,000 public bodies across America.

Our federal oversight work was cited twice in the President's Budget To Congress FY2021.
