Mainstream and Social Media and Fact Checkers 5

This is censorship writ large. Twitter is run by left-wing propaganda agents. Quote: "TWITTER BLACKLISTS CONSERVATIVES WHILE FACEBOOK HELPS EUROPEAN GOVERNMENT FIND TARGETS. Not all tweets are being treated equal nowadays. It has been confirmed by Breitbart, that Twitter has a blacklist where accounts are purposely left off of timeline coverage without being alerted of this. The criteria for being blacklisted or “stealth banned” is disturbing. Before, this technique was used to target spammers, but for the last few weeks users have been reporting that tweets from populist conservatives have been mysteriously missing from their timelines. Some of these effected accounts include Ricky Vaughn, a popular pro-Trump supporter, and Mark Kern, League of Gamers founder. Pretty much any prominent conservative site that isn’t determined “politically correct” probably has been blacklisted. These accounts are not alerted of this, either. The social media network also plays favorites with a “whitelist,’ which are accounts that receive preferential search engine treatment.

Not only are social platforms like Twitter censoring certain political beliefs, but Facebook is helping European government officials hunt down individuals with opposing beliefs to policies. A Scottish man was even arrested for his online posts regarding Syrian refugees from their offensive nature. “I hope that the arrest of this individual sends a clear message that Police Scotland will not tolerate any form of activity which could incite hatred and provoke offensive comments on social media,” said Insp Ewan Wilson from the Dunoon police office regarding the arrest. These posts have not been released to the public, so they were strictly left to authorities to determine that the “hate speech” deserved legal action. Apparently, In Europe it is okay to censor freedom of speech if inspires “hate.”  While, cross the pond, the American government is supposed to follow the constitutional right of freedom of speech. But, US citizens shouldn’t assume that their social media posts are free from government eyes, especially when social networks are allowed to censor as they please. Nothing is protected, even if you think it is."     Twitter Blacklists Conservatives While Facebook Helps European Government Find Targets - The Punching Bag Post

Social media giants are among America's biggest political enemies. They think they have the right to control us with their grossly un-American philosophy by making their sites left-wing dominated by Marxist oriented interests. They are a force fighting against our free speech rights. They fall into the class of ugly Americans.

This item speaks the truth and nothing but. Our progressive Democrat socialists will, of course, claim the truth is a lie if it does not fit neatly in one of their far too many far-left-wing false narratives. The fact is that we cannot believe a thing mainstream media fact checkers say. It has been proven time and time and time again that they are left-wing apologists. They will lie and/or mislead us about anything, loyally determining that anything not fitting within their narratives are lies. This item deals with that fact.

Quote: "MEDIA FACT-CHECKING NEEDS … FACT-CHECKING. Before we consider the reports from the growing number of media fact-checkers, we should first define what we mean by a “fact.”  That is not as easy as you might think.  There are hard facts, but most of what parades in the public media as a “fact” is merely an opinion. Example:  I can say that President Biden is not giving Ukraine the military support it needs.  That is merely an opinion which requires “facts” to support it. If I say that President Biden has refused to release the fighter jets to Ukraine that is a fact – a hard fact – supporting my contention. Whenever I proffer an option, I try to present hard facts that support my thesis. In between a pure opinion and a hard fact is a statement that is so obviously factual that one should not have to supply the supporting details.

For example: I recently said that most race riots occur in the major cities ruled over by Democrats.  A reader challenged me to prove it.  For me. It was like saying that I should prove that the sun is hot.  Common knowledge should be sufficient in such cases. Since we want only the facts, we might believe that the plethora of fact-checkers would be a useful service.  But in fact, they are as victimized by their own biases and inaccuracies as the folks they claim to be checking. It is a bit like the Dr. Seuss story of the “Watchers.”  It poses the question “Who will watch the Watcher?” … and then who will watch the Watch-Watcher?”  And on it goes.       PunchingBagPost.com – and me — were recently the subject of one of those media watchers.  They call themselves Media Bias/Fact Check (MBFC).  Like all such organizations, they make elaborate claims – one might even say “arrogant claims” –about their neutrality and dedication to the truth.  They offer themselves as unbiased referees of the public discourse.  Of course, they are no such thing.  Their position on the political bias continuum can usually be seen rather quickly.  One of the most obviously biased media observers is the very leftwing Media Matters.  Check them out and you will know what I mean. (See Chart)

This commentary, however, is about NBFC. Their first judgment or assessment is that PBP is a conservative news analysis operation.  Since the sites’ banner-head includes the statement “News from a Conservative Perspective,” their conclusion is neither surprising nor enlightening. Of course, they are no such thing.  Their position on the political bias continuum can usually be seen rather quickly.  One of the most obviously biased media observers is the very leftwing Media Matters.  Check them out and you will know what I mean. (See Chart)

MBFC goes on to say that PBP does not provide original reports, but “rather summarizes existing stories and adds conservative commentary.”  Nothing to reveal there since the PBP site says its mission is “to analyze the news for most important and most relevant stories.”  For example, I am a commentator.  My job is to put perspective in the news of the day – and occasionally make news. On the other hand, PBP does produce news stories based on facts and information not found in the reports of the mainstream media.  That is just a fact.  In many cases, our “analysis” may deal with subjects that are in the news, but we may reveal new facts and information that have not been incorporated in general coverage. Now, I could go on and on as to why I believe MBFC is biased in their view of PBP, but that would take an Oxford-level debate.  What really got my attention was this bit of information from MBFC – you know, the folks who brag about getting the facts straight.

“The Punching Bag Post does not clearly state ownership, however, Larry Horist is the founder and presumed owner. Revenue is derived through advertising.” If you check out the MBFC site, you will notice that it says that Larry Horist IS “the founder and presumed owner.”   I am neither.  I was not even involved with PBP when it was founded.  I write for the site – and other conservative online sites.  I produce between 40 and 50 commentaries per month.  I did not find – nor do I own – PBP or any of the other sites that carry my commentaries. I got a kick out of MBFC’s claim that the ownership is “not clearly stated.”  It is not really a secret, and a phone call or an email might have gotten them the information they wanted.  That is just lazy fact-checking.

Since I am easily contacted, you might think that MBFC would have made a simple inquiry before publishing a totally, provably and reckless false statement.  It seems to me that any organization that would brag bout its unbiased veracity would do a better job. But … it does explain why their “opinion” of PBP is so far off.  They are not a reliable source for fact-checking.  Someone needs to do a little fact-checking on MBFC.  Perhaps we could find a fact-checker to check the fact-checkers. Or maybe they could add this to their “about us” biography.  “We sometimes check out the facts and occasionally get them right.”

I guess one could accuse the self-proclaimed fact-checker of maligning PBP with its biased and inaccurate summary, but that is life in the media realm.  In terms of being a useful fact-checker, I like Project VERITAS over MBFC.  PV busts the big lies instead of telling them.  But of course, that is my conservative bias. If I may appropriate their rating system, I would put MBFC in the “Very Low” rank on their “Factual Reporting” system.  But … I did get a good laugh out of being named as the founder and owner PBP.  Almost as good a laugh as the guy who really founded and owns it."     Media fact-checking needs … fact-checking - The Punching Bag Post    See what I mean???

Everyone knows that Bill Maher is a left-wing nutjob but he does have a modicum of sanity not found in too many other left-wing nutjobs. Get a load of what he tells his audience in this piece. Quote: "Bill Maher attacks media for having ‘buried’ Biden laptop story. While many reporters have claimed Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop is simply Russian disinformation, The New York Times admitted last month that its contents are genuine. That admission brought a sense of vindication to conservatives and even led long-time liberal comedian Bill Maher to call out the media establishment, Fox News reportsThey “buried” it. “I remember reading about this a couple of years ago, the New York Post came across… Hunter Biden’s computer, which he apparently left at a computer repair store,” Fox News quoted Maher as saying during Friday’s episode of his show “Real Time.” The host then said that “if anyone should not leave his computer with other people, it would be Hunter Biden just for the personal stuff,” a reference to images on the device showing Biden using drugs and cavorting with prostitutes. “But it also had stuff about how, you know, c’mon, he’s a ne’er-do-well. I’m sorry, Hunter Biden, but you are…” Maher continued. “You made a living being ne’er-do-well who was taking money just because you were the vice president’s son and you had influence.”
“He got, I think $4.8, yes, million from Chinese energy companies to sit on the board and consult. Yeah, that was his passion in life,” Maher recalled. “So the New York Post got a hold of what was in the computer. And, you know, because the New York Post is a Republican paper, and The New York Times and The Washington Post are the Democratic paper[s]… “And the Republican paper, Twitter… canceled their account! They can’t even report on this story. And now two years later, The New York Times and The Washington Post have come around and say, ‘Okay, there was something there.'” “It looks like the left-wing media just buried the story because it wasn’t part of their narrative and that’s why people don’t trust the media,” Maher complained. In addition to journalists, members of the intelligence community also attempted to discredit reports about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Just prior to the 2020 election, 51 former intelligence officials signed a letter published by Politico in which they suggested that Russia was behind the material. In response, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) announced on Twitter last week that will introduce legislation aimed at stripping the signatories’ security clearances, arguing that they “publicly lied.”     Bill Maher attacks media for having ‘buried’ Biden laptop story | Conservative Institute
If Bill Maher sees the crimes Democrats commit why can't others see them, too.
