Just Three Days After Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘Big Comeback’ His Ratings Have Crashed by 70 Percent

Jimmy Kimmel's return to late-night television has seen a significant drop in viewership just three days following his much-publicized comeback.

• Kimmel's show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live! ", was reinstated by ABC after a short suspension, and Sinclair Broadcasting stopped blocking the show on its affiliates. However, Nexstar continues to keep it off its platforms.

• Kimmel's ratings dropped by 70% from Tuesday to Wednesday, going from 6.4 million viewers to 2.4 million.

• His ratings on Wednesday were still higher than his average (1.7 million), but this sudden decline raises concerns about the future of his show.

• In comparison to other late-night shows on Wednesday, Kimmel's viewership was lower than Fox News' "Gutfeld! ", which had 3.2 million viewers, and higher than CBS' "The Late Show" which had 1.9 million, and NBC's "The Tonight Show" with 1.2 million viewers.

• Some analysts and commentators, including media analyst Brian Stelter, have shifted focus to Kimmel's YouTube viewership instead of his television ratings.

• Criticism directed at Kimmel suggests that many viewers tuned in to see if he would apologize for previous comments, which he did not.

Kimmel's recent return to television may not bring the momentum he hoped for, as indicated by his rapid ratings drop. The long-term outlook for "Jimmy Kimmel Live! " remains uncertain with ongoing competition in late-night television and fluctuating viewer interest.
