Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced the decision on May 30, stating that these awards were hastily approved at the end of the Biden administration and did not align with the Trump administration’s energy priorities. The cancellations follow an internal review initiated earlier in the month as part of a new policy to enhance accountability and eliminate waste in federally funded energy programs.
