He also noted that social media platforms like Twitter censored reporting from the New York Post about the laptop, acting on pressure from Biden's Justice Department.
Caputo recounted that while he was covering Biden, he was instructed by Politico to avoid writing or discussing the laptop story, indicating a directive from higher-ups in the publication. He had also investigated Hunter Biden's dealings with the Ukrainian company Burisma, but his story was killed by editors during the Democratic primaries, leaving him puzzled about the lack of explanation for this decision.
Palmeri reflected on her work for a report about Hunter Biden’s gun-purchase form, which ultimately led to a criminal conviction. She spent months gathering information and wondered if the story would have been published sooner if it had been about someone else, given the early favorable period of Biden's administration.
