Democrat controlled cities have far too many Democrat prosecutors who
adhere to Democrat 'soft' punishment policies for conduct by black
perpertrators of violent crimes. A recent Newsweek magazine article dealt with this problem. Here is part of what was reported. "Crime

House and liberal talking heads in recent weeks when asked about the
surge in murders in deep-blue cities and voters' sense that they are
less safe than ever. White House press secretary Jen Psaki scoffed at coverage of the issue. Referring to a Fox News program that spoke of Democrats being "soft on crime" she asked, "What does that even mean?" A day later, she doubled down, saying claims that rising levels of crime was a top concern for voters had "no basis." CNN media reporter Brian Stelter summed up the disconnect between
the chattering classes and ordinary citizens when he used his program
to mock the stories Fox News runs on the issue. As far as he is
concerned, the entire notion of cities becoming unlivable and people
afraid to leave their homes or take subways was nothing more than an

Democratic district attorneys like San Francisco's Chesa Boudin
and Philadelphia's Larry Krasner have put BLM ideas into action with
deplorable results. Boudin and Krasner—who were, like many others across
the country, elected with help from left-wing billionaire George Soros—have
moved away from prosecuting all but the most heinous of crimes. They
act as if their prime responsibility is to defend criminals against
cops, not citizens against criminals. In doing so they have essentially
decriminalized the drug trade and a host of other "low-level" crimes.
Gang members and other repeat offenders are receiving permanent
"get-out-jail-free" cards.
The effects of these policies have been felt the most acutely in
inner-city minority neighborhoods. Though leftist activists insist that
law enforcement is a threat to these communities, the people who live
there understand their problem isn't too much policing but too little. In
New York, Democrats in the state legislature passed one of BLM's pet
ideas: a "bail reform" law that went into effect in 2021. The law made
it difficult to keep even career criminals behind bars pending trial,
leading to a situation in which law breakers, including those who shoot cops, are released as fast as they can be apprehended.
Revulsion against such policies is part of what allowed Eric
Adams, a former police captain and—in the context of deep blue New
York—a relative moderate, to be elected mayor last year, beating a
collection of leftists whose ideas were more in line with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).
Adams has declared "democratic socialists" like AOC to be his main
political foes. He has pushed back hard against criminal-friendly
Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and criticized bail reform. But while the mayor
makes his stand, Biden is repeating the same tired liberal talking
points about gun control."
This problem is persistent across most if not all Democrat prosecutors across the United States.

role the mainstream media plays in the whole Democrat party's gun

defined a school shooting as any event in which a person other than a
suspect is injured by gunshots on school property. The statistic was
publicized by the publicly funded NPR, among other outlets. Strictly speaking, there have been 27 such events this year. But most were not mass casualty events, as Robby Soave notes in a piece at Reason. Other than the Uvalde shooting, just six of the other 26 shootings involved fatalities, and in each case, one person died.
Only four other shootings resulted in three or more people
getting injured. In other words, while the media is making it sound like
there have been 27 mass shootings at schools this year, the actual
number, depending on your definition, is closer to five.
Many
of the 27 shootings took place in school parking lots and several
occurred after basketball games. One involved a sniper in a nearby
apartment building who injured four people. In short, these are mostly
not the sort of “school shootings” that lead to lots of mass media
coverage and political squabbling over gun control.
But according to Education Week, there have been 119 school shootings since 2018 alone. This is, again, a misleading figure: another estimate from the Scientific American found that there have been just 13 mass school shootings, defined as events in which four or more people died, since 1966, Soave
noted. While exaggerating the number of mass shootings in schools, the
media has also given a skewed picture overall of gun violence in
America. Typically, their rhetoric focuses on the AR-15 rifles favored
by lone wolf terrorists. But most gun violence is caused by suspects in cities using handguns.
Another figure that is making the rounds, from the Gun Violence Archive, says
that there have been 212 mass shootings so far this year — but a
cursory look at the data shows that the majority of these incidents,
while they may have resulted in many injured, led to no more than two
fatalities. Many had no fatalities at all. In brief, these are mostly
not your typical mass casualty events that get lots of media
play. Democrats are not just using recently murdered children to push an
agenda: they are using misleading data to do so."

keep the scam going. Here are just three of his quotes followed by the
truth.
“What in God’s name do you need an assault weapon for except to kill someone?” First
of all, as anyone who is familiar with guns will tell you, there’s no
such classification as an assault weapon. So, hearing the president use
this kind of description is only helping to spread false
information. Second, there are millions of AR-15-style rifles
manufactured or imported into the U.S. every year. It is estimated that
there are 20 million of these legally in circulation according to the
National Rifle Association. Obviously, plenty of people have rifles
without the intention of killing someone.
“The idea that an 18-year-old can walk into a store and buy assault weapons is just wrong.” Again,
we’re talking about a classification of weapons that don’t exist. It’s
funny how Twitter isn’t flagging his tweet for misinformation though,
isn’t it? And, why shouldn’t an 18-year-old be able to buy a gun? If
they are of legal age and have passed a background check, they have the
same rights as anyone else. At 18, a person is considered a legal adult.
They’ve likely graduated high school. They can vote in the elections.
And they can become a member of the armed services where, wait for it,
they’ll be able to use these types of guns in order to defend the
country." Even
the Olympics recognizes shooting as a sport. And why wouldn’t you want
to practice the sport that you are competing in? To do that, you’ll need
a gun. And the AR-15 is one of the best on the market. Let’s
not forget that an AR-15 can cost $800 or more. So, it’s not as though
just anyone can get one. They require a significant amount of money.
Sportsmen save up to buy these – and they keep them locked up and use
them when they are going to hunt or shoot targets. The average person
buying an AR-15 or any other gun is doing so for the sake of the sport,
not to kill someone.
In
2013, Biden actually made a comment during an online town hall meeting
about guns where he said, “You don’t need an AR-15. It’s harder to aim.
It’s harder to use and in fact, you don’t need 30 rounds to protect
yourself,” he said. “Buy a shotgun.” Of course, now that he’s
president, he’s not endorsing that anyone buys shotguns, either. But
it’s clear that he has no idea what he’s talking about – and therefore,
we have to wonder how much longer we can even listen to his nonsense.

Irresponsible leadership like that displayed in this item by our
President is just one of the many problems that Democrats contribute to
the destruction of civil and honest discourse that so plagues our
culture. They use falsehoods and deceptions to promote discord and
divisiveness instead of being responsible citizens promoting decency,
collegiality and healthy dialogue. That type of behavior has taken a
toll on the mental health of so many vulnerable people, young and old.
And, it contributes to outbursts from people with mental problems who
are influenced by so much of the hate filled and divisive rhetoric from
the political left. One has to wonder if that is purposful behavior with
the intent to promote violent outbursts from disaffected and vulnerable
