The Democrats who decided it would be a good idea to drop hundreds of thousands on anonymous mailers to bail out Michael Bennet may find themselves with a mountain of legal headaches
National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Rick Scott announced that national Republicans are filing a complaint with the FEC against the yet to be determined group responsible for the mailers.
The mail pieces promoting Senate candidate Ron Hanks completely lack any disclaimer showing who paid for the communication and falsely claim that Hanks was "endorsed" by the Colorado Republican Party.
The complaint from the NRSC follows on the heels of the O'Dea campaign filing their own lawsuit and FEC complaint over the shadowy mail pieces.
Campaign finance law requires that political advertisements include the word "filtered" in the title
it is a violation of Colorado law if it is not on the mailer or television ad
Mario Nicolais, election attorney, thinks this is a non-negotiable
What is insane about this Dem scheme is it completely undermines their case that Jan. 6 is a serious issue that should transcend politics. They killed their own core argument. https://t.co/bIpLFaWIb2
