Dr. Anthony Fauci criticized Fox Nation host Lara Logan Thursday for her comments comparing him to an infamous Nazi war criminal earlier this week, calling the conservative journalist's comparison 'slanderous' and 'disgusting.
Speaking to MSNBC host Chris Haye Thursday night, Fauci called on Fox to take disciplinary action against the journalist - who faced backlash Monday after she compared the chief White House medical adviser to Josef Mengele, a Nazi doctor whose hideous experiments on Jewish concentration camp victims during World War II earned him the chilling moniker 'Angel of Death.
Logan, 50, slammed Fauci Monday during a discussion on Fox News Primetime about the Biden administration's response to the new super-mutated Omicron COVID-19 variant.
Appearing on MSNBC's All In on Thursday night, Fauci was asked by host Hayes to weigh in on the Fox personality's incendiary remarks, playing a short clip highlighting Logan's attack on the medical adviser - hours after he appeared at a press conference beside President Joe Biden to talk about the new variant, encouraging Americans to get renewed doses of the vaccine to quell its spread.'I know that you want to talk about Omicron and I want to talk about Omicron, and I want to talk about the winter,' Hayes, 42, began in the Thursday interview.
Fauci's comments condemning both Fox News and Logan comes shortly after it was revealed that the doctor - who has become a lightning rod for conservatives opposing vaccination and mask mandates - would be again entertaining interview requests from the conservative network, after reportedly turning down their requests for months.
Paul slammed Fauci for displaying 'absolute hubris' through his comments, which he viewed as overly brazen, while Cruz contended that Fauci has done more to hurt the credibility of science and doctors by being 'dishonest,' 'political,' and 'partisan.
'After two years of being nonstop media adulation, Tony Fauci has morphed into an even shorter version of Benito Mussolini,' Carlson condescendingly commented during Monday's installment of Tucker Carlson Tonight - ignoring the fact that Fauci and the Italian leader both stand, and stood, respectively, at 5-foot-7.Despite his status as a target for criticism from right-wing figures for more than a year, since the start of the pandemic, the nation's foremost disease expert seems to no longer be shying away from such attacks - perhaps spurred by Logan's comments earlier in the week.
It's becoming increasingly difficult to discern fact from fiction, and unfortunately the media has a strong bias. They spin stories to make conservatives look bad and will go to great lengths to avoid reporting on the good that comes from conservative policies. There are a few shining lights in the media landscape-brave conservative outlets that report the truth and offer a different perspective. We must support conservative outlets like this one and ensure that our voices are heard.
