Things To Think About 2

Quote: "Then there is Democrat Sen. Tim Kaine. During a speech on the Senate floor on Tuesday, the Democrat Kaine actually said this: “The United States didn’t inherit slavery from anybody, we created it. It got created by the Virginia General Assembly and the legislators of the other states. It got created in the court systems in the colonial America. We created and maintained it over centuries.”  Kaine went on to say that, even though the U.S. stopped those practices, “we’ve never gone back to undo it. Stopping racist practices at year 350 of 400 years, but taking no effort to dismantle it, is not the same as truly combating racism.” The Democrat senator's speech has been posted to Twitter. And Twitter has not fact-checked it."  And, "The ultimate fact-check on Kaine's claim may well be from conservative economist and author Thomas Sowell, who noted in his book, The Thomas Sowell Reader:  Of all the tragic facts about the history of slavery, the most astonishing to an American today is that, although slavery was a worldwide institution for thousands of years, nowhere in the world was slavery a controversial issue prior to the 18th century. People of every race and color were enslaved – and enslaved others. White people were still being bought and sold as slaves in the Ottoman Empire, decades after American blacks were freed.  Everyone hated the idea of being a slave but few had any qualms about enslaving others. Slavery was just not an issue, not even among intellectuals, much less among political leaders, until the 18th century – and then it was an issue only in Western civilization. Among those who turned against slavery in the 18th century were George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and other American leaders. You could research all of the 18th century Africa or Asia or the Middle East without finding any comparable rejection of slavery there. But who is singled out for scathing criticism today? American leaders of the 18th century.  It is clear from the private correspondence of Washington, Jefferson, and many others that their moral rejection of slavery was unambiguous, but the practical question of what to do now had them baffled. That would remain so for more than half a century."
And, "Breitbart's Hannah Bleau noted: "Kaine’s false claim follows weeks of political opportunists seizing on widespread civil unrest, originally sparked by the May 25 death of George Floyd. Progressive politicians and activists have since called for the defunding of police departments and have argued that America is teeming with systemic racism within its institutions. Meanwhile, the brutal institution of slavery is still embraced in many areas of the world, from China and its mistreatment of Muslim Uyghurs to the active slave trade in Libya."  As Twitter users called on the social media platform to fact-check Kaine's claim, one lamented: “The worst part is that some people will believe this.” While others on social media directed Kaine to look up some history on the subject, one Twitter user had this response Kaine's assertion: "Thankfully, The Republican Party was formed to end slavery."    https://freepressers.com/articles/sen-tim-kaine-the-united-states-created-slavery
This is a two part series on the death of a black man by white police officers and the corruption that fills the ranks of the Atlanta prosecutor's office.  Here is part one.  Quote: "Part One here is more about DA Paul Howard and the kind of “man” he is. The idea that the elected District Attorney for Fulton County, Georgia, would prostitute himself to the mob by filing idiotic felony murder charges – which carry a potential death sentence under Georgia law — against Atlanta PD Officer Garrett Rolfe would be hysterically funny if it wasn’t so outrageous. But the words that came out of DA Paul Howard’s mouth in explaining the rationale behind the charges reveal him to be a duplicitous, money-grubbing, vote-hungry, and allegedly a thief and lecherous sexual harasser who recognizes Garret Rolfe as the “meal ticket” by which he might hold on to his position come August.  Within the last couple hours the Georgia Bureau of Investigation — who Howard had asked to conduct the investigation of the shooting — issued a public statement that it was unaware that a press conference was going to take place, and it was not consulted on the filing of charges.  GBI stated that its investigation is still ongoing.    https://www.redstate.com/shipwreckedcrew/2020/06/17/pathetic-murder-charges-filed-against-atlanta-pd-officer-rolfe-made-more-sickening-by-das-comments/
Here is part two.  Quote: "But that is now going to be Part 3 of this story.  As I sat down to write what was going to be Part 2, I continued to watch the press conference where DA Howard said things I would not be surprised to hear coming out of the mouth of a first-year law student — but only if that law student was in the process of flunking his/her Crim Law or Evidence classes — or both.  I then had a chance to catch the interview of the attorneys of the second officer, Devin Brosnan, by Fredo Cuomo on CNN, and later the interview of Off. Rolfe’s attorney on the Laura Ingraham show.  What they added to the factual puzzle here made the commentary of DA Howard during his press conference even more farcical.  Rolfe’s attorney is going to chew up any Assistant District Attorney who tries to bring this case to court. It’s almost impossible to write coherently about this story because the comments and explanation by DA Paul Howard in the press conference were legally incoherent.  I don’t know which of his idiotic statements to deal with first. Or do I deal with his fabrications? As a nerdy courtroom lawyer, sometimes things stick out to me when said by another lawyer — things that give me the clear indication that someone has said something to the speaker on the topic which the speaker then repeats, but it’s clear from his comments that the speaker himself doesn’t understand the issue he’s commenting on.  DA Howard had one of those moments for me with one of his more obvious moronic statements about admissible evidence he claimed the law deemed “highly reliable” — evidence referred to as “excited utterances.”     https://www.redstate.com/shipwreckedcrew/2020/06/18/atlanta-da-files-moronic-charges-against-atlanta-pd-officers/? There may be a third part.  Be on the look out for it.

Now consider the facts about the black man killed by the Atlanta police that has riled up so many blacks and their demented liberal white friends.  This is the type of meme that nicely illustrates why powerful people want to ban memes from the internet. Just to be clear, every word on this meme about Rayshard Brooks is true. He’s the man who was killed by Atlanta police officers last week, sparking yet another riot. A quick check of the Georgia Department of Corrections records shows that Brooks was in prison just a few weeks ago on charges of family battery (beating his wife and children), felony cruelty to children, possessing weapons during the crime of family battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping his children from their mother in violation of a court order. If you’ve seen the police body cam footage of the Brooks incident, he certainly does come across as a friendly aw-shucks-I-didn’t-do-nothin’-wrong sort of person. The truth is that Brooks is a monster who wouldn’t even have been out on the streets if it wasn’t for coronavirus.  Authorities let him out of prison early, despite the horrific nature of his crimes, because of coronavirus. And now the mainstream media is holding him up as yet another good boy who didn’t do nothing wrong to try to prove that police are somehow racist."   https://www.factsnotmemes.com/articles/the-truth-about-rayshard-brooks-is-a-lot-uglier-than-theyre-telling-you/    Puts a different spin on the matter, doesn't it.

These brave Atlanta police officers provide reason to the unreasonable and cowardly left wing political leadership running the city of Atlanta. Here is what 70 officers did, 60% of whom were black.  Quote: "Rayshard Brooks didn’t have to be six feet under the ground, right now. He chose to get shot, essentially. You can’t be drunk, resist arrest, fight with cops, grab a taser to use as a weapon and then expect to sleep in your own bed that night. It just doesn’t add up. Now that Officer Garrett Rolfe has been charged with murder (how ridiculous!), some of his peers have decided to call in quits in a show of solidarity." They know the difference between containment and appeasement. Something left wing leaders never, ever learn.   https://flagandcross.com/70-atlanta-cops-have-resigned-after-officer-rolfe-faces-murder-charge-dept-is-60-black/

This item reaffirms the well established fact that left wing elites have no moral fiber and are complete hypocrites. Quote: "New Orleans Mayor Praises BLM Protesters, Quickly Changes Tune When They Come to Her Home. Pretty funny how that works! Black Lives Matter protesters are very violent individuals. Not all, sure. But a lot. A lot of them are. You don’t exactly see conservatives going around, lighting cop cars on fire, now do ya? Check out the liberal mayor of New Orleans. She loves her some BLM, until they showed up at her house. Classic Democrat backtracking."  This proves they do not care the damage thugs do so long as THEY ARE NOT THE VICTIMS.  If that is not rank hypocrisy I do not know what is.   https://flagandcross.com/new-orleans-mayor-praises-blm-protesters-quickly-changes-tune-when-they-come-to-her-home/
