Fake News Bomb Story

Investigators are working to determine whether the two devices addressed to Clinton and Obama are linked to a pipe bomb found earlier this week in the home mailbox of billionaire George Soros, near where the Clintons live in Chappaqua, New York, multiple law enforcement officials told ABC News.

The article goes on to explain what the police did, CNN's situation during the scare, the appearance of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives on the scene, and what the NYPD Intelligence, Counterterrorism and Bomb Squad teams had to say to ABC News.

UPDATE 11:19 a.m.: NY1 reporter Myles Miller reported the envelope was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan-though Brennan is an NBC News contributor.

CBS New York: As with the other media outlets in NYC, this station was all over it, to, but with a different part of the story assigned to them.

Newsweek appears to be first out of the gate when it comes to blaming Republican officials for the series of mail bombs addressed to prominent Democrats.

A series of suspected mail bomb packages were sent to the Clinton family, Barack Obama, George Soros, the CNN office in New York City, former attorney general Eric Holder, Senator Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and the office of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., according to media reports.

In the Newsweek piece published Wednesday afternoon, the far-left publication appears to blame Republican Florida gubernatorial nominee Ron DeSantis for fostering an environment for such attacks.

Ron DeSantis campaign said he wanted Hillary Clinton's Florida visit to be "Kiss of death" day before bomb threat https://t.

"Ron DeSantis campaign said he wanted Hillary Clinton's Florida visit to be 'kiss of death' day before bomb threat," the Newsweek headline blared, citing a fundraising email from the DeSantis campaign.

To any honest, rational observer, the DeSantis campaign was clearly alluding to Clinton's historic losing record when it comes to political campaigning.

Given Newsweek's atrocious coverage of the ongoing mail bomb incidents, it should come as no surprise that the progressive media company continues to spiral out of control.

Packages addressed to Hillary Clinton, former President Obama, billionaire George Soros, ex-Attorney General Eric Holder, former CIA director John Brennan and Rep. Maxine Waters of California - who was sent two - and all appear to have the same characteristics, authorities and law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the matter told NBC News.None of the devices detonated and no one was injured, and authorities are examining the crude explosives and staying on the lookout for additional packages.

In a statement Wednesday afternoon, Waters addressing the suspicious package saying: "I have been informed by U.S. Capitol Police that my Washington, DC office was the target of a suspicious package that has been referred to the FBI. I am appreciative of the law enforcement entities who intercepted the package and are investigating this matter. I unequivocally condemn any and all acts of violence and terror."

CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker slammed the White House and its continued attacks on the media when responding to the suspicious package delivered to CNN offices at Time Warner Center.

Law enforcement officials say all of the seven linked parcels were in manila outer packaging and the devices had stamps on them.

The Secret Service says it recovered the Clinton package, addressed to her home in Chappaqua, late Tuesday.

"We are fine, thanks to the men and women of the Secret Service who intercepted the package addressed to us long before it made its way to our home," Clinton said.

A Clinton spokesman referred questions to the Secret Service, but reiterated that, unlike the Soros case, no package actually got to the Clinton home as two senior law enforcement officials initially reported.
