The DOJ and FBI Mess 2

More Comey lies.  Quote: "Jim Comey deserves a special place in the annals of sanctimonious frauds in Washington, D.C. He leaked, lied, bent rules, treated FBI material as his own personal property, violated confidential conversations, and generally acted like a government unto himself. But now he has the gall to write it all up in the sonorous nonsense language of “constitutional crisis.” His forthcoming memoir amounts to nothing more than the sour grapes of a self-serving operator over a wholly justified sacking. The media is already burbling over its fatuous contents. Ever the leaker, Comey tossed a pre-publication morsel of gossip from the book to the liberals at the Daily Beast — Comey’s claim that General Kelly commiserated with him over his “dishonorable” firing. The White House has denied the claim. So Comey is already cashing in on betrayed confidences, all while lecturing others about “loyalty” and probity. What Comey calls “higher loyalty” is just adherence to the interests of an unaccountable ruling class and the needs of his own ego. Comey slithered out of the swamp and now plays the great conscience of Washington. He sighs, looks heavenward, quotes Reinhold Niebuhr, tries hard to look very thoughtful — only to relay low hearsay and peddle anti-Trump dreck. Who cares? Comey’s wounded ego is not a constitutional crisis. The scandal is not that he lost his exalted job but that such a pompous creep once held it."    https://spectator.org/how-comey-lied-about-spying-on-trump-tower/

Add to what is already known about the illegal activities within the Obama Administration's DOJ and FBI this first release of findings by the DOJ Inspector General piles on more.  It is not good for all concerned as future releases will no doubt reveal more.  This article focusses on Comey and McCabe.  Quote: "This leaked story of McCabe’s bureaucratic heroism was calculated to override the claims by those agents lower down the FBI food chain who said that McCabe had shut down the Clinton Foundation investigation. But, for whatever short term benefit McCabe may have derived from the favorable publicity, it started an investigation by the FBI’s Inspection Division to find the source of the leaked information about his telephone call. The OIG report sets forth how McCabe denied to FBI Director James Comey that he had anything to do with the leak, and then repeated his denials under oath to the FBI Inspection Division agents. But, as the evidence contradicting his story mounted and the noose tightened, McCabe began changing his story to fit the emerging facts until ultimately he admitted to the agents that he was the source of the leak. At that point the FBI turned the matter over to the OIG. Here again, McCabe lied under oath when he told the OIG’s investigators that he was not aware of whether FBI lawyer Page had ever been authorized to speak to reporters."  And, "The OIG also has concluded that McCabe lied to Comey when he denied knowing who had leaked the information about the Clinton Foundation investigation and then lied to investigators about his interaction with Comey. When McCabe was fired on the recommendation of the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility, he claimed in an op-ed published by the Washington Post that he was a victim of “divisive politics and partisan attacks.” His wife followed up in a Post op-ed in which she blamed “the president’s wrath.”   And, "Though this first OIG report is narrowly focused on one single leak to the media and its attendant cover up, it’s a good omen of great things to come. The OIG has delivered the goods in round one. Consider it a preview of coming attractions."    https://spectator.org/andrew-mccabe-and-james-comey-deserve-each-other/
Did Comey break laws?    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/04/15/steve-hilton-will-comey-be-held-accountable-for-his-behavior-law-enforcement-cannot-be-above-law.html   Seeking sympathy... I do not feel sorry for this guy one little bit.  If he had behaved professionally rather than pursuing an agenda, he would have done the right things.  But, he did not so the price to pay is what he got, and it was well deserved.    http://freebeacon.com/politics/comey-it-sucked-to-be-me-in-final-days-of-2016-campaign/?   The real Comey is being exposed.    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2018/04/james-comey-a-legend-in-his-own-mind-but-not-at-the-fbi.php

This makes a mockery of Comey's book title (A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership) and his hypocritical arrogance and unethical defense of his gross misbehavior.  Quote: "“It might have been a mistake.” That was former FBI Director James Comey appearing on ABC News with George Stephanopoulos that aired April 15, admitting that on Jan. 6, 2017 when he assured then President-Elect Donald Trump that he was not under FBI investigation for Russia collusion, it was very misleading. Comey had just presented Trump with the Hillary Clinton, DNC-paid for Fusion GPS-Christopher Steele dossier alleging that the President was a Russian agent who had been compromised. He says he assured Trump, “We’re not investigating you, sir.” Yet Comey explained, “The general counsel of the F.B.I. had argued, ‘Look, it’s literally true that we don’t have a case open on President-elect Trump. We’re looking at other people.’ And– and– but his argument was, ‘There’s a problem with you saying that for two reasons. First, inevitably as we move along in the investigation as– as to whether anyone was working with the Russians, the campaign’s going to have to be a focus and the candidate’s always the head of the campaign, so inevitably we’re going to have to look at him. And second, you’re going to create a duty to correct. But if you tell him he’s under investigation and that changes, don’t you have to go back and tell him…’” Here, Comey is quoting the FBI’s former general counsel, James Baker, as stating that “inevitably we’re going to have to look at him,” speaking of the President. This is a stunning admission. Here, Comey is revealing that before the President had even been sworn in, a major investigation of Trump was already in the works. What he told Trump was factually misleading. It was a lie. Most of all, because, by then, in Jan. 2017, the Trump campaign was already under investigation. It wasn’t merely hypothetical. They weren’t thinking about looking into the Trump campaign. They already were. We know that because the Steele dossier had already been used as evidence to obtain a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant against the Trump campaign in Oct. 2016. The surveillance was ongoing."  And GET THIS, "It is unbelievable that Comey would have been unaware of it. Per the House Select Committee on Intelligence Feb. 2018 memorandum on those FISA court applications, “Then-Director James Comey signed three FISA applications in question on behalf of the FBI.”   http://dailytorch.com/2018/04/james-comey-admits-he-knew-the-fbi-investigation-of-president-trump-was-inevitable-even-after-he-knew-it-was-ongoing-at-least-since-oct-2016/    Simply stated: Comey is a lying dirt bag.
