The DOJ and FBI Mess 1

This piece lays out the DOJ strategy in addressing this mess plus related matters. Quote: "Congress making referrals is great, but remember: the Sessions/Horowitz/Huber plan is to unveil the evidence to the Congress, *the public* and *the media* before the indictments are unsealed. Remember, Andy McCabe hasn’t had his indictment unsealed yet. They wanted to wait until the OIG report dropped to do that. And they are still waiting because they plan to unseal many of these indictments all together at once. 2 more parts of the DOJ IG report need to be released to the Congress, the public and the media before you will see Sessions file charges: 1) OIG report on the DOJ/FBI handling of the Clinton email investigation
2) OIG report on FISC Court warrant on Carter Page.
Now, MEMBERS OF CONGRESS have seen enough evidence to make these referrals. Soon the public and the media will also have the evidence laid out for them by DOJ IG Michael Horowitz. Trey Gowdy has called Horowitz to testify to Congress Oversight Committee on May 8, in 3 weeks."      https://www.theburningplatform.com/2018/04/18/congress-making-referrals-is-great-but-remember/
The below items provide useful background as the contents of OIG Horowitz's reports are revealed.

This item provides a bit of background into the ineptitude of Mueller's time as FBI Director and why he should be fired.  Quote: "Theoretically speaking, one of the FBI’s core responsibilities is counterintelligence. The FBI lists eight priorities on their website and counterintelligence is second: “Protect the United States against foreign intelligence operations and espionage.” Robert Mueller, when he was the FBI Director, had the responsibility of stopping Russian intelligence operations against America. He reigned a full twelve years, from 2001 to 2013, marking the longest tenure of any director apart from Hoover. He had ample opportunity to run American counterintelligence as he saw fit, and even to put in place a foundation, set a culture, and hire the right people, to protect America going forward. However, Mueller was unable to bring victory to the intelligence department of the FBI. Indeed, Russia’s intelligence services clowned America numerous times."   And,  "There is one final Russian operation that we need to talk about: their campaign to meddle in America’s 2016 election. You see, according to Mueller’s own indictment, Russia began taking concrete actions to implement their plan in July of 2013. That, of course, was when Mueller was in charge of anticipating and stopping these threats. Properly understood, the Mueller Special Counsel is a Mueller investigation into Mueller’s failure as the FBI director."     https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/04/muellers_botched_counterintelligence_efforts.html

This item lambastes Comey and his revisionist history tripe called a book. All he did was prove himself to be a small petty fraud.   Quote: "The day that James Comey cashed the multi-million dollar advance check from MacMillan Publishers will turn out to mark the date that we can call “Peak Comey.” It was all downhill from the instant the ink started drying on his signature on the back of the check.  He and his ghost writer suddenly faced the unenviable task of making him look like the righteous warrior he had always portended to be, but with the need to fill 300 pages with something. Self-serving rationalizations can’t sustain reader interest over that many words, so apparently they decided that prose about physical appearances drawn from the bodice-ripper school of novels grafted onto Trump-hatred would do the trick. The result was so awful that even the Washington Post, owned by arch-enemy of Trump Jeff Bezos, felt the need for a satire. The result, written Alexandra Petri, a Post writer whose “Compost” blog is described as “offering a lighter take on the news and opinions of the day,” is downright hilarious. Purporting to offer “further excerpts” from his forthcoming book, her satire takes on the purple prose and wrestles it to the mat."  And, "Comey, after a career of manipulating, backstabbing, and ingratiating his way up the federal legal and law enforcement bureaucracy, is discovering that karma does eventually catch up to you. So far as I know, Reinhold Niebuhr never contemplated that concept."    https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/04/its_all_downhill_for_comey_now.html

In his book Comey throws former DOJ Loretta Lynch under the bus.  Talk about infighting now happening among members of Obama's clan with each side tossing trash against the other.  Quote: "Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch released a statement on Sunday, saying that she and former FBI Director James Comey have known each other almost 30 years, and "he had ample opportunities to raise" any concerns he had over the Department of Justice's investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails, but "[h]e never did." The backdrop: Per CNN, Comey says in his forthcoming book that he found evidence that "would undoubtedly have been used by political opponents to cast serious doubt on the attorney general's independence in connection with the Clinton investigation."   And, "So maybe this is what Comey had in mind as he and Lynch now mix it up. It sounds like a rat-king dynamic, rats with their tales tied together. We should do all we can to egg this feud on, so that the truth about what was going on among the Obama leftists can finally become known."     https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/04/loretta_lynch_not_too_happy_about_comey_throwing_her_under_the_bus.html

This mess is going to get a whole lot messier.  https://www.theburningplatform.com/2018/04/16/trail-of-james-comeys-dirt-on-loretta-lynch-discovered-within-ig-report-on-andrew-mccabe/
