Dealing With Nonsense

This is worth pondering, too.  Quote: "The American Left, which long ago abandoned its hereditary liberalism for totalitarianism, is very much interested in policing language. Writing this week in Time, which still exists, Katy Steinmetz complains about the use of the word “transgendered” to describe people who were until five minutes ago known as transsexuals, and five minutes before that weird guys in dresses. (The argument, in case you are wondering, is that the implicitly passive form “transgendered” suggests that something was done to these people, as though we could not distinguish between a tossed salad and a spotted owl.) She offers other sage advice: “If you meet a trans person — someone who identifies with a gender other than the sex they were assigned at birth — it’s generally a good idea to ask which pronouns (he or she, him or her) they prefer and to use whatever that is.” Other than establishing that she isn’t a reliable guide to pronouns, the merry assumption of absolute nonsense — “the sex they were assigned at birth” as opposed to the sex they are — isn’t just illiteracy. People instinctively resist the lie, which makes it necessary to make the truth almost literally unspeakable, even unthinkable. The lie isn’t quite sold yet, inasmuch as people still roll their eyes a little at the phrase “women with penises,” but it is getting there. Progressive tut-tutting about that sort of thing may be the mild stuff, but it isn’t innocuous. Activists for the so-called transgendered have argued that my work on the issue should be not criticized but banned, as in suppressed by the force of state violence. The usual banalities — “hate speech” and all that — are invoked. So far, it isn’t a crime to get on the wrong side of the men-in-dresses activists. We aren’t, after all, Canadians."       http://www.nationalreview.com/article/434160/exxon-climate-change-prosecution-witch-hunt

The left is so very, very misguided regarding economic matters.  This piece does a good job of explaining things they need to understand. Quote: "The Democrat candidates incite their mobs with self-righteous indignation towards the wealthy who pay for their handouts.  Sanders’s automatons are beguiled by his simplistic denunciations of inequalities, and are probably unaware of his inherent contradictions.  On the one hand he supports a higher minimum wage, but on the other he’s generally against free trade, which, at least when fair, helps the majority America’s workers. CEOs are overpaid is a simplistic recantation requiring minimal consciousness amongst the gang’s progressive throngs.  Some probably are, but many, especially company founders, may actually be underpaid.  According to the Forbes list of Billionaires, the top 400 created or controlled more than 10 million jobs across the country.  The top 100 founded companies employed, on average, 40,000 workers.  Business leaders who create or control hundreds or potentially thousands of jobs are probably worth their pay, but only a small portion is base salary; the majority is made up of performance-based compensation like stock options. Socialists don’t appreciate meritocracy, but if a company does well, business leaders will deservedly profit; consumers will have more choices; government will get revenues; and innumerable retirement accounts will gain. If the company does badly, activist investors and enhanced corporate governance will hold them accountable. Unfortunately, the Democrats-cum-socialists don’t respect that most rich Americans generate societal wealth that far exceeds their compensation.  According to the National Bureau of Economic Research they realize just 3 percent of the value they create, while consumers reap the rest. The Wealth-X and UBS Ultra Wealth Report 2014 (multimedia content) corroborates this, showing that the top 10 American male entrepreneurs’ main businesses employ over 865,000 people.  In common parlance: no poor person ever gave me a job."    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/04/celebrate_earned_inequality.html

Here is just one more reason the whole GLBT trend needs to be re-examined.  Quote: "According to a fact sheet, “Trend data show rates of syphilis are increasing at an alarming rate (15.1 percent in 2014). While rates have increased among both men and women, men account for more than 90 percent of all primary and secondary syphilis cases. Men who have sex with men (MSM)* account for 83 percent of male cases where the sex of the sex partner is known. Primary and secondary syphilis are the most infectious stages of the disease, and if not adequately treated, can lead to long-term infection which can cause visual impairment and stroke. Syphilis infection can also place a person at increased risk for acquiring or transmitting HIV infection. Available surveillance data indicate that an average of half of MSM who have syphilis are also infected with HIV.”  http://eaglerising.com/32621/americas-homosexual-community-sees-highest-rate-of-disease-since-hivaids-outbreak-in-the-1980s/

Quote: "What does it say about our society that we spend so much time celebrating victimhood? Does it seem healthy that the best thing that could ever happen to someone is to be jokingly called a slut by a talk radio host (Sandra Fluke) or to have a Christian refuse to take pictures at your gay wedding? That’s a sign of how deeply unhealthy our culture has become -- because the more time you spend trying to figure out who’s a victim and how to reward him for it, the less time you have to focus on winning, merit and free expression. The United States would have never become a great nation if we had obsessed over victimhood like this all along and it won’t remain a great nation if we continue to do it."   http://townhall.com/columnists/johnhawkins/2016/04/23/america-has-the-worlds-most-predatory-victims-n2152649?

Three questions.  1) How long do you think that 55% of taxpaying public can take care of the other 45% as well as themselves?  2) Do you think it is "fair" that the government "forces" the 55% at the threat of prison if they refuse to pay for the 45%?  3) Do think it would be better for the government to release its choaking grip on the economy so that the majority of the 45% could find a decent job and take care of themselves?    http://www.marketwatch.com/story/45-of-americans-pay-no-federal-income-tax-2016-02-24

This is an excellent explanation of why corporations are against religious freedom.  It is all about crony capitalism.  Quote: "Thus the left — which always accomplishes exactly the opposite of what it says it intends — serves big business with its ethos of "inclusion," which is really an ethos of coercion in disguise. Of course corporations will fight to defend that. It's meat and potatoes to them."   https://pjmedia.com/andrewklavan/2016/04/11/why-corporations-oppose-religious-liberty/?singlepage=true

These people represent the many, many uninformed who comprise the American public.  They are voting age but clearly have no idea what the role of government is.  http://video.foxnews.com/v/4862627788001/watters-world-government-giveaway-edition/?

Hollywood elites idolized by so many are so self absorbed with their fame that little do they realize their hypocritical tendencies.  This is just one of many examples. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/04/george_clooney_denounces_obscene_big_money_in_politics_after_hosting_hillary_fundraiser_where_seats_at_head_table_sold_for_343400.html   It would behoove them to stick to acting and not display their hypocritical far left views.  But in their egoistic way they think the public wants, even needs, to know their view of  both trite and important matters.  The leftist mainstream media are experts in playing this game.  Hollywood elitists flaunt their vast wealth garnered at the expense of a worshipful, fawning public.  Hollywood elites who support far left politicians reveal their own leftist views and condone the socialistic policies imposed on society by the political class.  Bottom line:  They are hypocritical full fledged members of elite socialist class taking full advantage of the fruits of capitalism.

Talking about expressing views.  This lady is expressing her views but the liberal left is trying to shut her down.  She makes a legitimate point they don't like.    http://eaglerising.com/32578/oh-snap-one-moms-way-of-unmasking-transgender-madness-is-making-liberals-apoplectic/
