Some Things To Think About

As we gear up for the November presidential election it would be useful/instructive for all of us to read excerpts from our 5th President's, James Monroe, first Inaugural Address.  Quote by the article's author: "From reading the Monroe address it is evident that we are far removed from our Founders. We cannot go back in time, but we can still demand a President that is a wise, experienced, and trustworthy Patriot."    http://eaglerising.com/32536/james-monroes-inaugural-address-proves-that-our-nation-has-lost-its-way/

Ask yourself which, if any, of the current crops of candidates demonstrates the wisdom and understanding of our nation's Constitution and our manifest destiny as represented by President Monroe.  What is clear is that a major house cleaning of our local, state and federal governments is necessary if we are ever to recapture our past glory and rid ourselves of the far too many miscreants in government who now service their interests rather than those of our country.  Bottom line: The people were in charge when Monroe gave them credit for the good things that followed the Revolution.  Today the government is in charge and feels perfectly justified in being dictatorial and controlling our lives.  It, in effect, is a replay of the oppressive British government of the colonies that led to the American Revolution.  Only this time the oppressive government is the one located in Washington, D.C..

We also need to ponder the consequences of the socialistic policies espoused by the two Democrat socialists running for office.  Perhaps this short tutorial will be of use. This piece "...explains that we cannot believe the liberals when they try to  repackage socialism into something warm and fuzzy. Their ideas, their philosophies, and their plans are the same old ideas, philosophies, and plans that statist liberals have been pushing for over a hundred years. Just because “Bernie” Bernard Sanders has decided to call it “Democratic Socialism” doesn’t actually mean it’s any different from last year’s plain progressivism. Or last decade’s European Socialism. Or last century’s National Socialism and Communism. These philosophies are all tied together and their ideas are all simple repackagings of the same tired, useless, and vain strivings of the morally bankrupt socialist/communists that lay dead and broken throughout history."  Two short videos are provided.  http://eaglerising.com/32672/this-is-what-socialism-really-is/

A wake-up article. Quote: "In a few words, fascism is crony capitalism with a suppression of civil liberties. Labor and proletarian elements are suppressed, but a sop of social legislation is enacted to keep the lower classes from outright revolt. The degree to which social concessions are made determines whether the fascism is leftist or rightist. Mussolini was more to the right. The Peróns ended up being leftist. In all cases, the philosophy is statist.  Facism is not the free market capitalism of Adam Smith by any means. Smith opposed government interference. Fascism can be viewed as much a form of leftism as rightism -- depending on one's point of view. This is a statist envelope where all groups: rich, poor, unions, capitalists are brought under state control."     http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/04/call_it_fascism.html

Some things to think about regarding the progressive side of the political equation.  Very interesting.  Quote: "Hillary Clinton has repeatedly described herself as a “progressive,” and even as a “proud, modern, American progressive,” but the political history of American progressivism is neither widely known nor understood.  Today’s new progressives, neoprogs, appear to be rapidly abandoning the label of “liberal” and adopting “progressive” as a more favorable moniker.  But the history of legacy American progressivism is less than worthy of praise."http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/04/princeton_professor_explains_the_dark_side_of_progressivism.html

One last item.  A heady question.  Why do liberals want the Bible out of public libraries???  http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/04/why_do_liberals_want_the_bible_out_of_public_libraries.html
