History 2

This is an unpleasant piece of history in which the media played a central role. Quote: "...impartially informed one and all.  The year was 1968 when the media realized that one major event called for the ransacking of any remaining journalistic shackles.  To do otherwise would inspire confidence and promote American might.  Sadly, this revisionist style of reporting has today engineered an enthusiastic following.  In hindsight, it is not enough to report that the Vietnam War’s Tet Offensive was falsely reported.  No, the question should be, why would this be, and to what purpose did it serve?  Since this false accounting has become an accepted part of our historical landscape, it’s time to set the record straight.  The incredible results from this falsifying agenda must be finally addressed.  In short, it transformed victory into defeat while tearing apart our country’s internals.   It invigorated the defiant, gave strength to our enemies and betrayed our military sacrifice."  http://eaglerising.com/21635/mishandling-the-truth-the-painful-reality-is-the-media-lies-to-us/

I bet you didn't know this either.  "When people think of the causes of the American War for Independence, they think of slogans like “no taxation without representation” or cause célèbre like the Boston Tea Party.  In reality, however, what finally forced the colonials into a shooting war with the British Army in April 1775 was not taxes or even warrant-less searches of homes and their occupation by soldiers, but one of many attempts by the British to disarm Americans as part of an overall gun control program, according to David B. Kopel.  Furthermore, had the American colonies lost their war for independence, the British government intended to strip them of all their guns and place them under the thumb of a permanent standing army.  In his paper titled “How the British Gun Control Program Precipitated the American Revolution,” Kopel claims that various gun control policies by the British following the Boston Tea Party, including a ban on firearm and gunpowder importation, tells us not only the purpose of the Second Amendment, but its relevance within the context of today’s gun control debate."    http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/2015/08/12/how-the-british-gun-control-program-precipitated-the-american-revolution/   Ask Kopel notes, is this not the same thing Obama, Hillary, Burney Sanders and other progressives/leftist keep wanting to do?  Their claim that they want to save lives is a cover.  They want to take over.  As history proves disarming the citizenry ensures that oppressive governments can and do subdue its "subjects".

This is a bit of history that the nation has ignored for a long, long time.  The founders abhorred political parties and warned us to not let them be formed.  But, here we are and now everyone knows the troubles they cause.  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/apr/20/wesley-pruden-partisan-politics-as-the-founding-fa/

The well known Marbury vs Madison Supreme Court case harbors myths that persists even to today.  Quote: "The common understanding of the famous Marbury v. Madison case is that it established the authority of the Supreme Court to determine what the Constitution says. From there, it’s held that the Court gets to determine the limitations placed on the federal government as well as the states. In short, the rest of the federal government, and the states, are bound by what the Supreme Court decides."  That, however, is not the case.  "... nowhere in the Constitution is the court given supreme authority over the other two branches. The Constitution itself, instead, was declared to be supreme, not the will of individuals holding federal office tasked with enforcing it."   http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/2015/03/08/the-myth-of-marbury-v-madison/

A footnote to this piece which is a bit difficult to read and completely understand is that Bill Clinton cited Dr. Quigley as one of his mentors at his first inaugural address.  http://www.unz.com/isteve/carroll-quigleys-conspiracy-theory-the-milner-group/

These two items were written by Dr. Walter Williams and do not necessarily match with what most of us were taught in school.  You judge for yourself whether or not he is right.   http://townhall.com/columnists/walterewilliams/2015/07/15/historical-ignorance-n2024814/page/full

Quote: "We call the war of 1861 the Civil War. But is that right? A civil war is a struggle between two or more entities trying to take over the central government. Confederate President Jefferson Davis no more sought to take over Washington, D.C., than George Washington sought to take over London in 1776. Both wars, those of 1776 and 1861, were wars of independence. Such a recognition does not require one to sanction the horrors of slavery. We might ask, How much of the war was about slavery?"     http://townhall.com/columnists/walterewilliams/2015/07/22/historical-ignorance-ii-n2027721/page/full

One has to wonder why liberals/progressives worship Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood.  Read this item and see if she is worth the praise.  Quote: "The Planned Parenthood founder’s KKK talk was a smash hit. Not only did it go very late, after a long wait, but it earned Sanger a dozen new invitations from the klan-sisters. The KKK was quite excited about the work of Planned Parenthood’s founder.  Thus, it hardly comes out-of-nowhere when a group of African-American pastors today asks the Smithsonian: “How can a person like Sanger, who found common cause with the racial agenda of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), be ranked among true champions of ‘justice?’”    http://dailysignal.com/2015/08/21/why-progressives-are-wrong-to-revere-margaret-sanger/?  This short piece affirms the basic facts of the prior link.  Progressive revisionist historians created a laudable persona of Sanger out of whole cloth.  The real Sanger is not someone most of us would want to know, much less revere.  This very short piece affirms that the record needs to be corrected.   http://spectator.org/articles/64520/national-portrait-margaret-sanger

This is a discussion of 12 myths liberals have perpetrated on the public to embellish their image and denigrate those who prefer truth to lies.  To advance through all myths click on the red arrow buttons.   http://conservativeamerica-online.com/12-liberal-myths-propagated-to-destroy-our-economy-slavery-was-a-by-product-of-capitalism/

This is a short history of the nullification process and its usefulness in combating governmental overreach.  Quote: " But correctly understanding the legal basis for noncooperation makes it strategically easier to pass legislation that denies state resources, personnel and assistance to the federal government. Insisting that nullification efforts are illegal only makes the work more difficult. In the case of state non-cooperation, we have the law and even the Supreme Court firmly on our side. We should use that to our advantage."    http://constitutionalrightspac.com/articles/nullification-through-noncooperation-rests-on-rock-solid-legal-ground   This item extends the discussion taking a slightly different path.   http://constitutionalrightspac.com/articles/we-are-the-government-tactics-for-taking-down-the-police-state

Hollywood does a great job turning history into propaganda.  This piece provides some examples.  Quote: "History matters. It matters enough that Hollywood should make an effort to tell the story the way it really happened, or at least to label fiction as such. In the meantime, it’s up to the rest of us to watch historical films with a discerning eye.   http://patriotupdate.com/hollywood-uses-propagandistic-films-to-enshrine-lies-in-history/

Some may scoff at this article but I think it is a thoughtful questioning of the degree to which the government and mainstream media go to protect their interests and deny truth be told.  This author is a credible questioner of what we are told and represents how many independent thinking Americans.   http://www.westernjournalism.com/government-media-lies-three-treasonous-presidential-cover-ups/?

This is a good way to end this edition of our review of lost history.   https://deweesereport.com/2015/08/31/patriots-vs-politicians/?
