Schumer - Legal Status for Illegal Immigrants is a Civil Right

Senator Schumer, as have other politicians, has said many crackpot things over the years.  Some were likely slips of the tongue, some intented to elicit a particular response, some partisan in nature, some downright nasty and some simply outrageous.  This one falls into the last category.  For an elected official, sworn to uphold the Constitution, to declare that granting legal status to people entering this country illegally is a "Civil Right" is foolish on its face. Especially so since he is a lawyer who one would think knows better.  Illegal immigrants are, by definition, law breakers.  Yet, Senator Schumer, clearly in pandering mode, maintains that granting them immunity and offering them citizenship is a "civil right".  What an excuse for a public servant.
