Pitting Group Against Group

The Zimmerman vs Martin case pre-trial hype, the trial and its aftermath demonstrate in part the trouble we as a nation are in.  The group (collectivist) first philosophy vs the individual and the hyper-political correctness that the liberal/progressives have slowly but surely imposed on our society is/has been destroying our nation.  The outcome of a trial, any trial, should be based the facts of the case; never on what group to which the parties involved belong.  Race baiting progressives such as Al Sharpton stick up for their own race no matter the facts - his history serves as proof positive that he is in fact a racist.  There are of course those in all races who fall into that catagory be they a run-of-the-mill racist or someone knowingly or not who has subscribed to the progressive mantra that the "interests" of groups always trump the "rights" of individuals.
