Truth vs Opinion

It is obvious that the government wants to control the narrative about the events leading up to, through the event and what follows the Boston bombing.  And, we can be sure we will get the full unadulterated truth.  They always tell us the truth, right?  The president's admonition that we should not form our own opinions is proof positive that we will not get the truth but what the government wants us to believe.  While it is true that we should not form opinions prematurely, if both the government and media had a history of telling us the truth then most of us would be inclined to wait until all the essential facts became known.  But, history proves that both the government and media cannot be trusted as evidenced by the many, many, many documented lies past governments have told the public but which only came to light many, many, many years after the fact.  Given the implications of who the suspects are in this case and their apparent religious affiliation, it is likely that political correctness will guide precisely what facts are revealed and how the government's official report is framed.  In today's culture being politically correct is much more important than telling the truth.  Note what the President said Friday night:  Americans should not decide their opinions about the Boston terror attacks until the government decides its own opinion.  The truth of the matter is we don't want the government's "opinion".  We want the truth!
